MAYBANK CHAMPIONSHIP

October 30, 2026

Pauline Roussin-Bouchard

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, joining us after the second round of the Maybank Championship is Pauline Roussin-Bouchard. Pauline, another great round. You're solidly in contention. Can you just talk about your mindset heading into the next two days?

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: I think it's like trying to just do pretty much the same thing and maybe just roll a few more putts in.

But no, same mindset. Keeping the thoughts in the right place and that's pretty much it.

Q. You're bogey-free through 36 holes and golf is very much about minimizing mistakes. How do you feel like you're doing a good job of that?

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: Today was all about that. The few putts that I made were mostly for pars, so those were definitely clutch.

But then, yeah, I try not to think about it because then everything become precious and you try to do (indiscernible) and waste shots.

So I'm more in that mindset more than like -- if there is a few drops, I'm perfectly fine with it if it's a birdie that comes after that. So today was like really good, like really, really good shots, and some really bad breaks in the bunkers with some plugged balls.

Look, it definitely was a little bit of damage control and then pretty good golf.

Q. You are notorious for keeping yourself very fit off the golf course. When it's this hot out, what does your fitness routine look like here?

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: I would say that like I will still do what makes me feel good off the golf course, meaning running and lifting.

It will probably not be a 15 kilometer run. It will be like shorter distances, but I'll still stick to what makes me feel good. And basically also -- I like to feel like I achieved something off the golf course, and whether it's a workout or run, I'll do that.

And then I see my physio like for a good hour and we get the body ready for the next day.

Q. You had three birdies and all pars. Was that like you were saving pars or you missed birdies or what?

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: I was honestly trying not to get mad about it because I was playing really well and just like didn't make that many putts.

But I did make a lot of like par putts that were very clutch, so like I think stats-wise it's not that far off. I didn't like lose that many shots. I think today was mostly about like still giving myself opportunities even if I were like to not make every single putt.

Q. The weather is extremely hot today.

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: Let's say that like at least you get to eat way more because you have to to make up for all the calories and all the sweat that we lose.

I don't mind it. I'm not going to lie. I think it makes it a little harder on the body so a bit more of an effort, and it's always nice.

Q. How many bottles of water have you consumed today?

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: Well, at least eight, so, yeah, that was a lot. And I was like -- that includes electrolytes, and like I don't know if I should say this on camera, but did I not even go to the loo one single time. I like drank all day. This is how hot it is.
