Quick Quotes
Q. Give us your thoughts on your day's work.
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: You know, I did some good stuff. Wish I could have gotten a few more shots out of it but yeah, overall, I think pretty solid. I wish -- like to keep a clean card, so two bogeys hurts. But maybe could have played the par 5s a little bit better. I didn't take advantage of those today.
But overall, nothing crazy. Just a decent day.
Q. We were very impressed with your second shot to 16 out of the fairway bunker where you cut it around the riveted face. Can you talk about that one from your point of view, as well?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Cut, slice. It was actually the second -- I fortunately -- fortunately or unfortunately, however you want to look at it, I hit a good shot off the third tee, and just overall to the fairway, so I hit a similar shot there to get the ball in the fairway from that pot bunker -- I don't know whether you call it a bunker but out of that bunker specifically.
So the next one there on, I guess what hole is that, 16? Sorry, the nines are confusing. Just a big 'ole slice out of the bunker. It was unfortunate, the ball ends up in there but I was able to hit a really nice shot there and still make par there. That was nice.
Q. Over last five years, we've been used to opening round scores leading of 9-under par twice, 8-under par, 7-under par, today we are only seeing 5s and 6s. What's making the course more difficult on a beautiful weather day than what it looks on screen?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: It could be pin location, maybe. That would be maybe the first thing I could think of. But the greens, I think are in better condition than they have been in the last couple years, so that's been good to see some improvement there.
