BETFRED BRITISH MASTERS HOSTED BY SIR NICK FALDO

August 24, 2025

Rasmus Højgaard

Sutton, Coldfield, England

The Belfry Hotel & Resort

Quick Quotes

Q. Thanks so much for joining us. We couldn't know exactly where you're going to finish in this championship because a lot of golf is still to be played, but we do know you've earnt enough points to automatically qualify for the Ryder Cup. Tell us what that means to you.

RASMUS HØJGAARD: Yeah, I don't know what to feel right now. I've been so stressed out on the course today. Yeah, I was telling Tom, my caddie out there, I don't know how I'm going to be able to do this.

You know, I managed to make a good four in the end there. So yeah, I'm over the moon right now.

Q. Obviously you knew you had to finish tied 29th or better. Started off incredibly well, three birdies in a row and four bogeys in a nine-hole stretch had you hovering precariously close to the line and you talked about the pressure you were feeling. What was going through your mind and your body, knowing one dropped shot, the dream could be gone because you said to me the other day you weren't certain of a pick if you didn't get the result.

RASMUS HØJGAARD: Yeah, I knew every bogey out there was very costly. So yeah, I was well aware of the situation. There's a couple times out there where I really had to calm myself down and not let it spin out of control. That birdie on 15 calmed my nerves a little bit but obviously put pressure on myself on 16 again.

I felt like every hole was just a tough battle, and yeah, so happy to be here now.

Q. Your identical twin brother is out there challenging to win this championship. I put to him yesterday, if he won here and potentially even next week, he could be a wildcard pick. Is that the dream scenario, that you two get to play together?

RASMUS HØJGAARD: Oh, a hundred per cent. It's probably the biggest goal we have together. Yeah, I think if it would happen this year, it would be amazing. But I'm sure we'll both fight to be able to do it another time if it didn't happen.
