Quick Quotes

Q. Obviously a really productive day from a lot of different factors. Certainly making tomorrow very interesting.

JON RAHM: Yeah. I'm glad I didn't fall too far back. I haven't seen all the scores. I have no idea what's going on. I have no idea where the leaders are. But in my mind, I have to expect that JoaquĆn is going to come out and at the very least post a 5-under. He's such a good player and it's a very accessible golf course.

I am going to need a Sebastian-esque round to give myself a chance to win and hopefully take it all. If not, I'm going to need a lot of luck in all those possible scenarios. Obviously the higher I finish, the better my odds are.

Q. Given the way the season has gone for you, how great is it that you go into the final round and you've still got a chance to defend your title?

JON RAHM: Yeah, it's great, and I pride myself on it, but I'm still kicking myself for not having won at least once. I definitely had my chances. There will be something to learn from this year. I had my chances to win and just couldn't get it done. But if I can somehow finish solo second and JoaquĆn doesn't have his best day, to be a winner without winning a tournament, that may be something that might not be replicated again, so it would be special for sure.

Q. Do you have a preference whether you play with Joaco tomorrow?

JON RAHM: I think in both ways it's good. If I can start out good and put pressure on him, it would be good. It wouldn't change anything. Whether I'm playing with him or not, I'm going to go out there and try to shoot the lowest round I can.

Q. About the course itself, how do you think it'll play tomorrow?

JON RAHM: I have no idea. The fairways just keep getting firm, so it's still going to play short. The only thing you can do for this golf course to not be that accessible is pin locations and to try -- the greens are soft enough and we're coming in with short irons, there's very little they can do. If you just put it in play, you're going to have so many short irons that shooting 3-, 4-under isn't that difficult. You don't need anything special to shoot 6-under here compared to other courses because the fairways are so firm, and for the most part you're coming in with short irons. The par-5s, the ball rolls out 60 yards, so if you can just somehow hit it in between the lines, you're going to have short irons in. You have 50 of the best players in the world with wedges in hand, so you're going to have to expect birdies.
