U.S. WOMEN'S OPEN

June 5, 2021

Amy Olson

San Francisco, California, USA

The Olympic Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Amy, great playing today, 1-under. Walk us through your round.

AMY OLSON: Yeah, hit an nice birdie to start out. First time I was able to go for 1 in two, so that was a nice way to start the day.

Struggled a little bit off the tee but hit some really good recovery shots and made some putts when I kind of needed to. Had a really big putt on hole 14 from off the green that kind of gave me that little boost to finish strong.

So very pleased with you how I played. Very solid, steady.

Q. We had arguably some of the nicest weather today all week. How did the course play? Did it firm up or has it been playing similar to the previous two rounds?

AMY OLSON: Yeah, I thought that like the greens were still soft and receptive. The fairways were running out a little bit, so you had to really pick your lines because they obviously tail off a little bit.

But I really felt like it played very similar to the last few days. The wind today was just slightly different. I felt like there was a lot more winds, especially coming in, that you couldn't tell if it was helping or hurting.

But overall I think it played pretty similar.

Q. Any change in your game plan for tomorrow?

AMY OLSON: Not really. I just want to go kind of I guess shore up some of my tee shots, because those are super important out here. That's about it.

Q. Lastly, so now that you've got three rounds in, your thoughts on Olympic Club as a U.S. Women's Open venue.

AMY OLSON: Yeah, it's exactly what a U.S. Women's Open should be. Poor shots are definitely penalized, but you can score if you're hitting good shots. So it's very fair, which is how I've always felt U.S. Women's Open are, and I think they've done an great job.
