THE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT PRESENTED BY NATIONWIDE

June 5, 2021

Bo Hoag

Dublin, Ohio, USA

Muirfield Village

Quick Quotes

Q. Could you just kind of give an assessment of your round?

BO HOAG: I feel like I played pretty well. Got off to a good start there. A couple birdies early on. A couple holes were playing pretty tough into the wind, I think on 7, 8, 9 were kind of tricky holes. But I got a couple birdies coming in. I felt like I played well.

Q. I want to ask you about the rough. How is the rough? How difficult is it?

BO HOAG: It's a factor for sure you got to keep your ball in the short grass if you're going to make birdies. Very rarely are you going to hit a close shot from the rough so yeah definitely a premium on putting the ball in the fairway.

Q. Does it feel almost like U.S. Open rough?

BO HOAG: In some spots, yeah, for sure. I think it could be.

Q. Last year you made the cut you had a 67 in the second round and then 79s on the weekend. Was that on your mind at all you want to finish strong?

BO HOAG: Not really. I'm just playing golf at Muirfield Village. That's what I'm trying to do. I've done it my whole life. So the more I can make it like that, which I'm doing, the better I'll play.

Q. To put three solid rounds together though how good is that, how special is that for you?

BO HOAG: Yeah, it's good. I've been had some good tournaments this year, so I've put some good tournaments together and just kind of building off that, I played well on the woes coast and a couple good events in Florida, so, yeah, my game feels good and I feel like I've been playing solid.

Q. I got to ask you about the crowd support. I'm sure you had a bunch of people here. What was that like?

BO HOAG: It's great. It's awesome. Just having my friends and family, usually they're watching it from a computer screen on PGATOUR.com. So it's kind of nice for them to actually be on the ground and see the shots. I don't have to explain them when I get home. They can see that some of the shots are pretty hard that's maybe why I didn't hit a good shot. But it's been great. I love it.

Q. How much of a lift does it give you?

BO HOAG: It's great. Oh, it's great. It just kind of a little bit of a -- it's a life experience when you play in your PGA TOUR hometown event. So, just enjoying it as much as I can.

Q. And you said on whatever day it was, Wednesday or Thursday, that you were still trying to figure out how to kind of combine the pressure and the -- how is it working?

BO HOAG: I would say well. I feel very comfortable. It's just nice to have them. If I make a birdie I can kind of share a celebration or if I drop a shot they can kind of pick me up. So, yeah, it's great.
