 KILLARNEY, IRELAND

MICHAEL GIBBONS: A very special press conference today, young Peter is here on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and we would like to welcome him. Peter, welcome.
 PETER McENERY: Thanks.
 MICHAEL GIBBONS: You all right.
 PETER McENERY: Yeah.
MICHAEL GIBBONS: Excellent. Maybe just start us off by explaining your wish and how your day has gone today.
PETER McENERY: My wish, I asked, first for Pádraig Harrington, and I got clubs and I played with Pádraig Harrington, and just going everywhere with passes.
MICHAEL GIBBONS: What kind of clubs did you get?
PETER McENERY: TaylorMade, PING and Titleist.
MICHAEL GIBBONS: Is that all right?
 PETER McENERY: Yeah.
MICHAEL GIBBONS: You have better clubs than Pádraig Harrington. Thanks very much.

 Q. Were you nervous or did you enjoy it?
PETER McENERY: I was nervous teeing off on the first but after we got that over with, I was grand.

 Q. Did you give Pádraig any tips?
 PETER McENERY: No, I didn't.

 Q. How old are you?
 PETER McENERY: 14.

 Q. Did you beat him?
PETER McENERY: No. But I halved a hole with him.

 Q. Tell us about yourself and do you play much golf?
PETER McENERY: Yeah, I play a lot of golf. I'm down here every day nearly practising. I'll be chipping some days. Yeah, I go off to the driving range and I play rounds with my friends.

 Q. So you're from Killarney?
PETER McENERY: Yeah, I'm from Killarney. I live about five minutes away from here.

 Q. What's your handicap?
 PETER McENERY: 24.

 Q. How do you play today?
PETER McENERY: Well, I played well.

 Q. What did Pádraig say to you along the way? Did he give you any tips?
PETER McENERY: No, he didn't give me any tips, no.

 Q. Didn't need to give you any tips.
 PETER McENERY: No. (Laughter).

 Q. How did you score today?
PETER McENERY: I scored well. I had a double-bogey on the first but it was unlucky. I bogeyed the second, but I parred the third.

 Q. Did you have a bet with him?
PETER McENERY: A chipping, a Euro to take him on in chipping some day.

 Q. Do you fancy your chances?
PETER McENERY: I don't know. If I chip the way I did today, I have a chance, yeah.

 Q. What's been the highlight of the day so far?
PETER McENERY: Just walking the fairway talking to Pádraig. And watching my dad carry my bag (laughter).

 Q. What's your dad's name?
 PETER McENERY: John.

 Q. Is he a good caddie?
 PETER McENERY: Yeah, he was.

 Q. I'm presuming Pádraig is your favourite player; what do you like most about him?
PETER McENERY: I don't know really. He can be very good to watch but sometimes he has his mistakes. But everyone's the same, really.

 Q. Did you give him any tips?
PETER McENERY: No, I didn't. No.

 Q. What do you think was your best shot of the day?
PETER McENERY: My chip on to the third green. I almost holed it.

 Q. From how far away were you? Were you just off the green?
 PETER McENERY: About 15 yards.
MICHAEL GIBBONS: I think you have a good chance against Pádraig. Thank you very much for joining us. Well done.

 Q. Anyone you would like to thank?
PETER McENERY: David Parks from The European Tour, Make-A-Wish and Cathy at Make-A-Wish and my parents and David Keating, the professional in Killarney for giving lessons.
 MICHAEL GIBBONS: And Pádraig, maybe?
 PETER McENERY: And Pádraig. (Laughter).

 Q. What hole did you halve?
 PETER McENERY: The third.
MICHAEL GIBBONS: Well done, Peter. Thanks very much for joining us.
