NHL DRAFTJune 26, 2009Oliver Ekman-LarssonMONTREAL, QUEBEC Q. How do you feel now that you're going to Phoenix? This must be a big day for you? OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON: Yeah, I had the biggest day in my life, and it feels good, and I like Phoenix. Q. Have you been there before? OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON: No, but I hope soon. Q. Can you just talk, it's already been you and Victor drafted and they are talking about eight Swedes in the first round. Can you talk a little bit about why there's going to be so many Swedes so high in this draft and how proud it is for you as a Swedish player? OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON: Yeah, it's a lot of good players in Sweden, and I think Hedman is a really good player and good person. I'm here and so I'm proud. Q. Early in the season you were not rate that had high and you moved up throughout the second half. OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON: Yes, I am, I don't know why, but I have a good season and that's why I'm here. Q. Do you feel like you're ready? Do you feel like you're ready to play in the NHL? OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON: Yeah, more muscles and then I'm ready I think. Q. So you think another year in Sweden? OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON: Yeah, one more. Q. Can you talk about playing in the smaller rinks? OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON: Yeah, I like to play in the small rink, and it goes faster, but I like it. Q. Can you talk about shooting the puck more? OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON: Yeah, they want me to shoot more, but I think I try to shoot more now. Q. Can you just describe your style of play? OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON: I think I'm a puck mover, defensor and with good skating and good hands and I see the ice really good I think. End of FastScripts |
