HONOLULU, HAWAII

ERNIE ELS: I knew I had to make 3 just to have half a chance. I'm 10-under right now. The leaders are at 10 and they have a lot of holes to play. I'm just hoping at the moment.

Yeah, I knew I had to finish big, and I was fortunate enough to hit a good second in there. I haven't been putting very well all week, but today, there was a bit of a light, you know, coming through the tunnel there.

So I made a couple more putts today, but the putt on 18 was really nice. It was nice making that putt.

Q. What do you take from this into the next week?

ERNIE ELS: Well, it's got to be positive. I've been striking the ball well this week. I had a bit of problems on the greens, but also I made a lot of soft bogeys, which are always positive. If I get my short game a little bit more sharp, I can really score some good numbers. So looking forward to it. Obviously, it will be a totally different golf course next week but I'm hitting it nicely.
