KB FED CUP, FINAL

September 18, 1999

Konstantin Bogoroditsky

STANFORD, CALIFORNIA

Q. Coach, this is a position you might have expected to be in at this point?

KONSTANTIN BOGORODITSKI: Yes, I expected this, but I still had hopes that they could do a little better.

Q. Elena, is it nerve-wracking coming out against the world's No. 2 player?

ELENA DEMENTIEVA: I wasn't nervous, and I enjoyed playing. But I'm a young player, so I felt like I lacked experience.

Q. Do you hold out any hope for tomorrow?

KONSTANTIN BOGORODITSKI: I don't have any particular hopes, but -- for tomorrow, but I think they could do a little better tomorrow. And I hope that whatever they do tomorrow, the people who come to see the game will enjoy it.

Q. What did you think of the atmosphere out there today? Were you surprised it was kind of subdued, the crowd?

KONSTANTIN BOGORODITSKI: I liked the atmosphere that we saw today during the game, and I'm very grateful to the people who came to see the game. I do think that the support from the public is very important for the players.
