Taihelyo Club Minori Course

Quick Quotes

Q. Congratulations. You're in a wonderful position with 18 holes remaining. How did you improve so much from a 72 to two rounds of 65?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: All right, so I would say like I'm learn a lot from the first round. So I know like this course, like you can make like any chance if you can make a putt, so I just say like I'm learn from that and then -- I mean like on the first round after finish.

So I spend like more time on the putting green and I talk with my dad about what I should to do on second round.

Yeah, it's look like it's work. It's keep working until third round, yeah.

Q. It really has. Both your mom and dad are here. How nice is it having them here in Japan with these huge crowds?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: So I would say first thing first, I love Japan. Also my dad and mom and brother are here, so I would say whole family here is kind of special week for me.

And then yeah, it's big crowd. Especially today I'm play with Aki and Yuri so, wow, it's many people. You know, like it's make me excited but like it's not like -- it's make me excited at the same time. I mean, like I can keep like focus on my game and then having fun on the course.

Q. You're certainly having a fun. We've got to ask. You've got a great nickname. Your brother is here. He is called Guitar. You're called Piano. Tell us a little bit how that came about.

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: I would say it's from my dad and mom, their decision together to give me the nickname because they just love the music. Actually they want to like build a brand for the music. Like I'm play piano, Guitar is play guitar. It's kind of like that.

But I don't know, after that he get crazy about golf and then when I was three he just take me to play golf, teach me, so that's all from Piano.

Q. You certainly had the high notes today. Well done. Good luck tomorrow.

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Thank you so much. Thank you.
