Q. A 6-under par round of 66. Give us your verdict on the day's work.
JON RAHM: Well, it was a good day overall. Just Holes 4, 5, and 6 got away from me for a second. A couple bad swings, one bogey I and was able to minimize the other two. From then on, I played some decent golf, I would say all day, except those three holes. I was in a good position on every single hole with a chance for birdie.
Fantastic round. Wishing I would have hit a couple better putts in the last two holes, right, just misread those two putts. But overall, obviously very good golf.
Q. On a golf course where everyone is going low, if you're level par after 6 you feel like you're being lapped. How important is patience and experience?
JON RAHM: Yeah, I think you need to be aware that both things can happen, right. I think I remember Tyrrell, the first day was even par through nine and shot 5-under. Even Rory himself yesterday was maybe 1- to 2-under going up to 8 or 9 got out with four or five, six birdies in a row. It can happen.
It can also happen that you have a few bad holes, but was able to minimize that and make a birdie on 7 and got things going again.
Q. Out there with Tyrrell and Francesco trading eagles and birdies, loved watching you, what was it like from your point of view?
JON RAHM: It was good from 7 on today. I got from being close to them on the third fairway to falling back three holes later was not ideal. But I needed to trusted that I was swinging well and things were going well.
Q. What would a win mean to you tomorrow, your first outside of LIV and the Masters in 2023?
JON RAHM: Yeah, it would be amazing. It would be amazing. It's been a good year so far. But to win again on the DP World Tour would be special. To add to the Rolex Series tally and make it six would be fantastic, as well.
This would be very -- a much easier question to answer tomorrow afternoon if I were to be the champion. There's still a lot of golf to play and a lot of things to get done.
