Quick Quotes
Q. Yesterday you were disappointed with your play and described it as really bad, and today a 67, did it feel much better?
EUGENIO CHACARRA: Yeah, good work last night with the driver. I finally hit some fairways. When I'm in position, I'm pretty good with it. Obviously happy with the result but still some things to get better at.
Like on 15, made another bogey with a wedge from the middle of fairway and it's been like the tone of golf for the week. A lot of bogeys, unforced errors from the middle of the fairways. It's something I need to start getting better at and shape a little better for next week to give me a chance to win.
Q. You said you were going to talk to your team last night to get their views to what had gone wrong in the second round, particularly. What did they say?
EUGENIO CHACARRA: Obviously it's hard to attack this course from the rough, and that was the main thing. Then it's just kind of like momentum golf. Like when you make a birdie and you're in the fairway, try to not like make a stupid bogey and that's what I've been doing.
Like I said yesterday, I had a double-bogey from a hundred yards in the middle of the fairway, and today I got one bogey from a par 3 that's a 9-iron and another bogey with a pitching wedge from the middle of the fairway. There's still stuff to get better at but I'm really happy with how I drove the ball today. That work yesterday with the different driver heads with the Titleist guys, changing the weights and changing the setting, that really helped today.
Q. Said something surprising yesterday, that you're just not good fluff yet. You're top of The Race to Dubai. You've won three times this year and four times total. You look capable of doing anything. What did you mean by that or was that just heat of the moment?
EUGENIO CHACARRA: I feel like I'm not good enough comparison with Rory and these guys to where I need to get to. Obviously they have been doing it for a long time. It's only my second year on tour, year and a half, you could say and they have been here for 20 years. Obviously I'm still not good enough experience of how to manage my emotions, and obviously game-wise, I still need to improve my driving obviously this week, my wedges, and just how to understand the game of golf.
Yeah, it's just a reality, and I love it. I love the grind. I love waking up every morning knowing I can get better and what's what we live for. Obviously I have a long ways to go. I have 36 guys in front of me that they are better in the World Ranking, so I still have a lot of work to do.
And playing with Rory the first day, I can tell I'm still behind and I if I want to get to where I want to get, I need to do the things like he did does, and I still have a lot of improvement.
