Quick Quotes
Q. 6-under through 11 holes, finished 6-under. Frustrated? Happy? What?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: You've got to be a bit of both, haven't you? I think you have to respect the scoring. I think the scoring is really, really good. 6-under is a very good round.
I do feel like yesterday and today, aside from a little run there early on, holed some putts on 3, 4, 6, but other than that, I feel like I haven't made the most of how I've hit the ball. I haven't scored like I should have.
But at the same time, in any regular circumstance, and still, over two days, 8-under, it's very good. It's just that I think, yeah, it's quite very good, but you've got to say fair play to everyone.
Q. You shot 25-under here and lost in a play-off last year. Do you see that same sort of scoring this time around?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It depends on conditions. To be fair, today the course felt a bit more accessible for whatever reason. I still felt like the pins were tucked away. But yesterday I just felt like I was playing pretty well, but it was always, you know, if you hit it well, you were 10 feet away. A decent shot was 20 feet, so then you've always got a bunch of those putts, and you need to get your eye in and be holing those putts to have a great round.
Today I felt like it was a bit more accessible, but guys are 11-under after 27. So, yeah, the players are probably very good at golf, aren't they? Give them perfect greens and perfect conditions like today, I guess, yeah, scoring is on.
We'll see over the weekend. I'll try and just take it one step at a time, and obviously I've just got to continue to -- I think it's easy when the scoring is like that to get frustrated if you do go through a run of pars, especially like I did today. But I'll just keep playing every hole as it comes and hopefully make a few more birdies.
Q. Fourth at the Dunhill Links, fifth in India, last two starts. Confidence level pretty high?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I've been playing well. I feel like I'm practising very well. I still feel relatively fresh at this point in the year, which I always think is important.
I played really well for the first two days in France, and I didn't get the chance to play at the weekend. And to be fair, Dunhill was a similar story in that I didn't really feel like I scored as well as I hit it, and then I had a great day and a very difficult day on Sunday. So that's why you've just got to keep going.
But yeah, game's in good shape. Working hard. I'll just keep going until somebody says stop, and then we'll reassess.
