Quick Quotes

Q. Incredible round of 10-under par 62. You shot 62 on this tour before, but it was a 9-under par. Where does the 10-under rank in the best rounds you've played?

FRANCESCO LAPORTA: I mean, today, everything was in perfect, like, shape. So my short game was really good, so I just start to make some putts from like No. 6 on.

So, yeah, I mean, long game was pretty good. I had a lot of opportunities. So just enjoy the round, enjoy the place. I mean, the course is amazing. The ball is running so good on the greens, probably the best greens of the year. So, yeah.

Q. 1-under par through four holes, then 9-under for the next 12. What were you thinking and feeling as that was all unfolding?

FRANCESCO LAPORTA: I mean, everything was, like, just going like a video game, like just hitting shots straight and making some putts and just giving myself opportunities.

I mean, it's -- I'm very happy about that. Actually, I was struggling a bit in the last few days. So I had a lot of time on the range yesterday, and I spent a lot of time on the greens, just understand how to work around the lines and the spin because the greens, like they're pure, but they're also quick. So it works. So now it works.

Q. You shot 64 in the first round here a couple of years ago and then shot three rounds under 70. Is this a course you particularly enjoy coming to?

FRANCESCO LAPORTA: Yeah, I mean, the course is amazing. I really love the place. So I loved being here, been practising a lot, a little bit, in January last year, so -- no, in February. So, yeah, I just love the place. Everything is so good.

I mean, the weather also helps. There was not much wind today. And maybe it would be a bit more windy the next few days. I'm not sure about that. But if the wind pick up, yeah, definitely the course can, like, show some problems. But, yeah, just everything is perfect.
