TOTO JAPAN CLASSIC

November 4, 2026

Jeeno Thitikul

Omitama, Ibaraki, Japan

Taihelyo Club Minori Course

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: All right, joining us ahead of the 2026 TOTO Japan Classic is Jeeno Thitikul. Jeeno, this is your first time at this event in a few years, can you just talk about your decision to play this week?

JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah, my decision was so easy. Like I said, I come here to eat sushi.

I mean, obviously the golf tournament definitely one of it, but I think Japan has things to explore for me more than just golf. The culture-wise, the food, the people, the city. I feel like it's more thing to explore around just not the golf.

THE MODERATOR: Can you speak about how good the Japanese golfers are?

JEENO THITIKUL: They're so good. So good. I mean, I had a chance -- when I was an amateur I played like (indiscernible) tournaments. I played -- I'm not too sure, like Century 21 I guess, JLPGA as an amateur.

I feel like they had a really strong field. Not all of them are going to U.S. but like 80% of them like stay here, which is maybe like more comfortable for them.

But to the others, I think the course-wise it's set up wide. At the JLPGA tournament, on the (indiscernible) tournament, setup kind of hard seem like us playing, and then their short game is the best. Like they're not hitting that far but they're hitting straight, and then their putting. If you can see by Miyu, putting.

And then the short game is just amazing. And then I think that's why they can survive on the Tour. Either it's going to be a long course or either it's going to be a short course that they can be able to adapting on every courses that they play.

THE MODERATOR: Questions?

Q. This week have you had any sushi already and any type of fish you like?

JEENO THITIKUL: No, not yet. Not really. I did arrive on Monday and then we had like Izakaya place, which is had sashimi and then yakitori more than sushi. I haven't had a chance because yesterday we had the pro-am party.

But if you ask me what I like, it's -- I can't pick one. I think all sushi is good. But I do like shitoro a lot, uni, and then the a Amaebi, yeah.

Q. I guess you don't have time for sightseeing, but so far what is your impression of Japanese culture or Japanese atmosphere?

JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah, I mean, like I haven't played much in Japan recently. This is kind of first time after like a few years. I do have like vacation day and time with family like last two years visiting Tokyo and all around Tokyo.

I think I do impress a lot the culture that Japanese have. They're so polite and so kind and I feel like they're cute in their way. When they talk and smile, I feel like it's just really nice city and country to be visit around.

I think Thai people love Japan a lot. All the flight from Bangkok to Japan like always sold out because we love coming here. You know, a culture that you guys had is pretty unique and couldn't find for any country in the world, so I think it's really things that I really impressed.

Q. Your performance has been very consistent. According to your social media, you are (indiscernible) physical, how to train. What is the key of your performance?

JEENO THITIKUL: I mean, the consistency-wise is what all the athletes want to have. I think as much consistency you have, then -- which mean you give yourself an opportunity to hoist the trophy.

So I think for me, I mean, I try to keep things on track, even like things kind of not really feeling good. So I trying to see my coach, I trying to -- you know, also physically on the gym is important too. I feel like as an amateur we play one or two tournaments in a month, but as a professional we play two weeks in a row, three weeks in a row, maybe four weeks in a row.

I think physically has been one of the priority of golf in my career, and also I think, I don't know, like I trying to put everything -- I don't feel like I have outstanding like performance-wise in any kind of shots, but I trying to make everything on the standard that I want it to be.

So maybe that should be the point.

Q. When you came here, have you had any chance to talk to Japanese players? What kind of conversations do you have?

JEENO THITIKUL: I'm about to have dinner with Rio Takeda tonight, and then if Japanese player -- I chat with Rio, but Rio only smiling. She not really like -- she is kind of shy to speak English but I know what she trying to say.

It's really nice. She's really cute. We about the same age so I think that's why we go along well.

And then I always teasing Miyu. We play together a lot and then she kept playing well but she never rest. Like she never, ever take a break in any tournament.

So I think I saw her in Boston and then she win from Canada. I did ask her at the AIG which tournament you going to play? Are you going to play three in a row? She said, no, I'm not playing Portland. I said, good for you. Good for you.

Then after she won Canada and then I saw her at Boston and then I tell her like, see, rest and then win. And then yesterday we kind of teasing around on the chipping green. Then I saw Miyu in the gym a lot.

Q. Title sponsor TOTO. I am not sure if you have seen the toilet outside.

JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah.

Q. Yeah, and then it looks like you are so interested.

JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah.

Q. Quite different from the one in U.S., so if you win this tournament you can get that toilet. So how do you -- what do you think about it, the toilet.

JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah, we saw that. It's beside the putting green I guess. And then my caddie said is this the toilet. I was like, yes. And then, like, what is it for? And then he saw the sign like, winner gets winner prize, so if we win we get it. He was like, if you win, can I get it?

I was like, what you going to get it for? But, yeah, that's the best thing. I think toilet is the best thing that -- best toilet in all of countries. I mean, even the airlines has the best toilets so far.

I mean, it's had two ways of good sign, which mean if I get the toilet which mean I win it and I get a good toilet. So I definitely would love it for sure, but I do have a same -- not same, but do I have kind of automatic toilet like that in my house in Thailand, too.
