Q. Since we last spoke, you've become a father for the fourth time. How are they all doing?
JON RAM: Everybody is doing great. It's been -- it was a wonderful birth and both Mom and Baby are doing really good.
Q. Seven weeks since we last saw you at the BMW PGA. Last competitive event. How have you prepared and how does the game feel?
JON RAM: Minimally, I would say. I've been busy at home with other things.
So yeah, golf kind of took a bit of a second -- a back seat on the, let's say, relevant things that I had to take care of. So between, obviously, supporting Kelly and the family and then the few weeks after the birth that I could practise, the golf courses in Arizona were overseeded. I haven't been able to do as much as I may be would like before a tournament but it wouldn't be the first time I take some time off and then play really good golf.
I think I'm ready, and just really looking forward to getting the week going.
Q. First time here in Abu Dhabi and first time at this golf course. You played nine holes yesterday. What do you think of the challenge it represents?
JON RAM: I haven't seen the back nine, which I've heard it's really good as well. Very few golf courses are going to be in better shape than this one. Very few divots on the golf course. I don't know how they managed that. They must have closed it. And every blade of grass is exactly where it's supposed to be. It can get firm if they want to get it firm. It can get fast if they want to get it faster. But with the wind blowing as much as it can here, it probably won't be much faster.
It is a golf course where you can see scores being low, how it has been in the past with the greens being that good, right, nowadays, which if you can put in the fairway, which is not the narrowest fairways in the world, you can be aggressive. You can afford to go at pins, and people are going to have a lot of looks at birdie, right. Hopefully I can be one of those guys at the end of the week.
Q. Currently 51st in Race to Dubai. You're in great position. How much are you looking forward to getting back there with the record that you have, three wins, never outside the top five, must be one of your favourite places on the planet.
JON RAM: Yeah. No pressure. Yeah, look forward to it. This week and next week share some common similarities, right. Both golf courses, the greens are in great shape. And I would say what's done me really well in the past in Dubai is how well I've played off the tee. If I can summon that, obviously, I think it could be really a good two weeks.
Q. Obviously you've announced that you're leaving LIV. What does the future hold for you? Do you know where you'll be playing next year? What's the situation with the PGA Tour and DP World Tour?
JON RAM: I know for sure I can play DP World Tour, right. They have been really gracious and allowed me to play and continue to keep supporting the tournaments that they allow me to play.
With the PGA Tour, things are a little bit different. I haven't been able to speak to them yet until things are finalised, which should be hopefully soon, and then we'll see.
I don't know what is in store for us. We know what they did with Brooks. This is different circumstances. I don't know what things are going to look like. But it's a pretty good safety net to have that I can play the DP World Tour next year, and if it comes to that, I'm really excited to play for a full year.
