Quick Quotes
Q. We have Mirabel Ting. Quite a mixed bag round today. How was your round?
MIRABEL TING: It was tough. It was tough but I still finished under par which is a good thing. Again, it's always tough to see the putts not dropping. Couple of mistakes on putting today; I think that's about it.
Q. You turned pro in 2025. This year you earned your LPGA Tour card. What are your hopes for next year?
MIRABEL TING: I'm not expecting much my first year on LPGA. I'm just going out there and play as much tournaments as I can as a rookie and go out there and enjoy myself. Have my sister traveling with me and I'll see my coach very often on the road, so pretty excited for that.
Just excited for what's coming for me and my sister traveling together.
Q. How does this year's experience compare to previous years?
MIRABEL TING: Well, I would say amateur time was probably a lot easier because there is no expectations, no pressure, no nothing. But every since I turned professional there is always pressure. There is always expectations and trying to do well, and trying to play as -- play better.
But, yeah, just it's a tough week and a lot to learn about myself again. A lot of reflection to do.
Q. How do you think this week went?
MIRABEL TING: Not great; not horrible. Not the best; frustrating. A lot of things that I can say, but I don't really want to look at the bad side of my round but more looking at the bright side of what can be better and what's good has already been good and what's good there is nothing to be fixed.
But there is a lot of fixing definitely on the putting.
Q. This is the third straight edition that you emerge as best Malaysian. Does that make you feel a certain way?
MIRABEL TING: Well, at the end of the day I'm just trying to do my best regardless of who is finishing the best as Malaysian. I think it doesn't really matter to me. As long as I did my best, did think my progress is good, my routine was good. I think that matter the most, and being able to just finish best Malaysian.
Q. What's next for you for the rest of this year?
MIRABEL TING: I think I'm going to play couple in China and next year probably start of the year just to warm up playing in Australia and head on to the LPGA Tour.
Q. (Regarding the Olympics.)
MIRABEL TING: What do you mean?
Q. I mean are you in for the Olympics?
MIRABEL TING: Yes. So playing in Olympics is one of the goal. To represent my own country, it's definitely something to be proud of, and of course there is a lot of things to still be improved to be able to get there and hopefully one day be able to get at least a gold for Malaysia in Olympics, yeah.
