Quick Quotes
Q. ... your first nine.
NATASHA OON: Yeah.
Q. And then your second you seemed to be okay, and then you had a bogey. And also can you just talk about...
NATASHA OON: I mean, if I'm being honest, like this year, like getting back into the swing of things. Like I have had a lot of up and down rounds.
Ball striking wasn't really there but my short game was, so definitely had to scramble a lot.
So honestly, just sticking to the process and I kind of hung in there. I wasn't mad at how I played at all. Things just didn't go my way sometimes, and it did. So, yeah.
Q. What did you think was working and what wasn't?
NATASHA OON: Chipping was definitely a star of the show today. Hit some really cool chips out there. I had sand saves.
Drained some good putts, and I think like I just didn't hit my shots well beginning of the round. I think I tend to get a little angsty, a little nervous, and maybe that like tightens it up a little bit, and towards the end of the round I chilled out and was hitting it better for sure. Yeah.
Q. Okay. I mean, the back nine you kind of saved a lot of pars.
NATASHA OON: Yeah.
Q. Do you think that maybe in your first nine you just didn't get into...
NATASHA OON: Yeah, I think so, for sure. I was kind of nervous and I feel like I'm still figuring out like how to settle into (indiscernible.)
I think in practice I definitely felt like my game was there and in tournament just like, okay, like body is just kind of reacting.
So, I mean, that's just reps, just getting more reps. And definitely (indiscernible.)
Q. So more shots on the driving range?
NATASHA OON: Yeah, yeah. Try to simulate what happened out there. But, yeah.
Q. Would you say the conditions are either maybe tougher or easier compared to the last three times that you practiced within the week?
NATASHA OON: Oh, I would say -- I mean, it rained a lot yesterday and I think it showed, because there were some shots where I'm like, that should not have happened but it did.
So definitely felt like it was a lot more receptive. I don't think it's harder. I just think it's like you got to know that your ball is not going to go that much, even if you hit a really good shot.
Yeah, because some balls for me, like if I hit a wedge like full, it will spin ten yards, and that one just didn't spin. It was this way and I was like oh, that's really weird.
Q. In one word, how would you describe your experience at Maybank Championship so far?
NATASHA OON: Nostalgic, yeah.
