THE MODERATOR: Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to the Maybank Championship 2026. We have with us today our five ASEAN qualifiers. From the left, Marisa Tojai, Achiraya Sriwong, Sarisa Pojanalai, Pimnipa Panthog, Liyana Durisic.
I'm going to start off with a few questions for all of the qualifiers. So some of you have actually played here before. Some of you this will be your debut appearance at the Maybank Championship. Just tell us how you feel about playing in an LPGA event on such a big stage. Start with Liyana.
LIYANA DURISIC: Hi. Obviously it's a very -- biggest honor to be able to play on this big of a stage, especially I'm also an ambassador here and playing at home literally.
It's also nice to be playing against Asia's best and the world's best. I think if I just go out there and enjoy it's just going to be an even better week, so...
PIMNIPA PANTHOG: This is going to be my first LPGA event. Obviously I'm very excited and I think this will be a very great learning experience for me as well.
So I'm very looking forward for it, yeah.
SARISA POJANALAI: This is my first LPGA event and I'm really excited. As you said, this is like a great honor to play in this event.
Yeah, I'm very excited and it's going to be like one way to my future goal that I want to play, my dream.
ARCHIRAYA SRIWONG: Yes, it's my second time for me, and last year I play for amateur and this year I play for professional first time, yeah.
MARISA TOJAI: Yeah, my first time to LPGA. I'm really excited, yeah. Thanks.
THE MODERATOR: One more question. Marisa, what is your ambition this week? Do you have a target or are you hoping to learn something this week?
MARISA TOJAI: (Through translation.) So basically my goal this year is to enjoy and like play my best, and hopefully I will -- like the experience I get, this will help me grow in the future, yeah.
THE MODERATOR: Achiraya, what do you hope to achieve this week, not only from the result, but maybe you can learn something this week? Even though it's your second Maybank; first time playing LPGA as a professional.
ARCHIRAYA SRIWONG: I hope play better more than last year, yeah.
SARISA POJANALAI: So I will just try to go out there and play my best. Try to have fun, enjoy every moment, and then get new experience from playing in the professional tournament.
PIMNIPA PANTHOG: I mean, pretty much the same as them, but I would try to enjoy it as much as I can and perform. Like I've been practice all year for this, so I will try my best and enjoy the environment and collect all the experience that I got from this tournament as much as I can, yeah.
THE MODERATOR: Liyana, this will be your third I believe in a row.
LIYANA DURISIC: Yes, third Maybank Championship. You would think that I have learned everything about the course, which I do think I know all the ins and outs of the courts. I think it's more so mental game and just go out there and enjoy it, because I play my best when I'm not all in my head.
So if I just go out there, enjoy my family and friends being out here, enjoy my brother being on the bag, I think that will be just a massive boost of confidence to enjoy it instead of being all up my head and worrying about the outcome.
THE MODERATOR: Questions from the floor.
Q. So what are you looking forward to about competing in this event? Question for all.
LIYANA DURISIC: I think for last year I played with a lot more LPGA professionals than I did the first year, which is very exciting. I think this year I'm also looking forward to playing with more LPGA professionals compared to last year so that I could just see how their game fares up against mine and then learn a lot from them, watch how they do it, and also just enjoy myself on top of that.
PIMNIPA PANTHOG: I would say I'm very looking forward to play with all the LPGA players because it's my first time. Very excited about that. Of course like playing in KLGCC again, this is golf course is very challenging, so I would love to try and do better than the qualifiers, yeah.
SARISA POJANALAI: So I'm looking forward to be playing with good professional golfers and to be back in the course. It's a challenging one, a challenging course, and, yeah, just try to do my best.
ARCHIRAYA SRIWONG: I'm looking forward to (indiscernible) better, and putt better, yes.
MARISA TOJAI: (Through translation.) I will try to play my best, as is the plan. I'm very looking forward to play with all the good players, yeah.
Q. Question for Liyana. (Regarding improving your mental to be prepared and also brother and family)
LIYANA DURISIC: I think it hasn't changed. Having my family out and close friends obviously would be really nice. They are coming out so it will be a really nice experience.
I would say in terms of my mental game it has definitely improved. I would hope that we have built a framework to get me out of my head, which is great. I'm just hoping that I am able to really instill it in myself, because obviously mental game is always very tricky.
Some days you feel really good and some days you don't deal your best. It's more allowing the thoughts to pass instead of like really dwelling on it. That's what I'm working on this week, to just be focusing and be present out there and enjoy it and soaking in the energy.
I'm sure there will be a lot people out here this week, so I feel like if I just soak up that experience, enjoy having my any brother there, the scores will work themselves out.
Q. Question for the Thai girls. Some of you play first time. Some of you play in last years. For those who are first time playing, what are you -- is there anything from your colleagues for this tournament? Thank you.
THE MODERATOR: I think what he's asking is for three of you it will be the first time. Maybe share encouragement. Any of your friends play here before share any tips or encouragement?
PIMNIPA PANTHOG: I would say totally different from normal tournament because this is like a world class tournament and it's the first time for me. So definitely really excited and very looking forward to play, and hopefully I will get to learn a lot from all the world class players that come here.
Yeah, I'm very looking forward for that, yeah.
Q. Liyana, have you seen your first round starting tee?
LIYANA DURISIC: Yes, I have.
Q. Have you played with the Belgian girl and Robyn Choi?
LIYANA DURISIC: No.
Q. This is the first time?
LIYANA DURISIC: First time.
Q. Have you heard of them?
LIYANA DURISIC: Sorry, what was that?
Q. Have you heard of these two players before?
LIYANA DURISIC: I've heard of Robyn Choi because she's from Australia. I spend a lot of time in Australia as well so I've seen her around. I don't think she knows me; I know of her. I don't know her on a personal level obviously, yeah.
Q. You said your brother is here. Is it the first time?
LIYANA DURISIC: No, he caddied for me the first time in 2024 and then I had my coach caddie for me last year and then he's back on the bag.
Q. Could you give me his name and age?
LIYANA DURISIC: Danial Durisic; he's 29.
Q. Question for Liyana. You mentioned that mental golf is very important. Do you have a coach or something?
LIYANA DURISIC: I do. I do. His name is James Glazier. He's Aussie; he's really good coach, mental coach, so hit him up.
Yeah, he's great. I've been working with him since Iowa State, so two years since I graduated, so it's been four years now.
THE MODERATOR: I've got one for Pimnipa. You won the Malaysia Junior sometime back. Do you remember anything about that?
PIMNIPA PANTHOG: It's been a while ago, but, yeah, I've been in Malaysia couple times when I was in the National Team. Always happy to come back here. Yeah, people here are very nice.
I don't really remember all the feelings at that time. It was (indiscernible) years ago, but it's nice to be here, yeah. Again.
Q. For Sarisa, you're currently in your sophomore year at Michigan State. Just tell us a bit about college life. I'm sure your teammates must be so jealous that you're playing in an LPGA event this week.
SARISA POJANALAI: Yeah, so it's been hard to have like arrange a good time to practice and class. It starts between how to control myself, wake up, go work out in the morning, doing school and practice golf at the same time.
And, yeah, I got a lot of -- after first season end I got to fly here and play in the LPGA event, and, I mean, yeah, actually everyone (indiscernible) be here. Yeah, very excited to go back.
Q. You recently turned professional I think a few months ago, and you've won on the Thai LPGA Tour. Won as an amateur player. What's the main difference playing as a professional competitor and amateur? Is there more pressure you feel more pressure?
ARCHIRAYA SRIWONG: No. I feel the same, yes.
Q. No different at all?
ARCHIRAYA SRIWONG: No.
Q. Do you enjoy?
ARCHIRAYA SRIWONG: Enjoy. Enjoy, every time.
Q. For Marisa, so this week you arrived quite early. Have you been practicing on the range, on the green, with all the LPGA players? How does that feel? You're actually on the same golf course, same practice area, having your meals in the same area. What does that feel like?
MARISA TOJAI: I'm really excited.
(Through translation.) I'm very excited, and this is my first time playing this big event, and the golf course is really challenging and I will try my best to try my best for this tournament.
PIMNIPA PANTHOG: I mean, I can tell that she's very excited. At the gala dinner last night, they both like taking a picture and selfie with those LPGA players.
THE MODERATOR: How is was the dinner last night? The food, mixing with the LPGA players, the dancers, performances?
PIMNIPA PANTHOG: The performance was very good. Like I was watching the ones with like the -- they have the (indiscernible) right? That was really good.
And I got to united with my teammates from college, so it was really nice for me to get to see them again, yeah. The dinner was really good, yeah.
Q. What was her name?
PIMNIPA PANTHOG: Pauline Roussin Bouchard.
Q. Did you enjoy dinner last night? Did you have a lot of food?
SARISA POJANALAI: I would say the most important thing was the atmosphere at the dinner. I got to meet like a lot of good players.
THE MODERATOR: What did you enjoy? Did you chance.
ARCHIRAYA SRIWONG: (Indiscernible.) Last night, yeah.
Q. Liyana, what did you think of last night's performance?
LIYANA DURISIC: The experience was great. It was very dimly lit and hard to make out faces, but the atmosphere was really nice, as Sarisa said. Food was really good. The theme was like rain forest and I (indiscernible) a lot and I just devoured that. It was awesome. Food was great. I was hanging out with Mirabel. She's my GOAT, my greatest of all-time, my idol. So it was a fun time. Great night.
Q. For the Thai players, just how much does it mean to you guys to have grown up watching people like Mo and May and even Jeeno and Piano? What does it mean to have such strong Thai golfers representing Thailand on a global stage and for you to now be the next generation doing it?
PIMNIPA PANTHOG: I mean, it means a lot. Mo and May are like my idol when was young. I saw them play, and I just thought, one day I want to be in that tour and I want to play with them.
Jeeno is always awesome. She's really nice. Piano as well. It's great to get an opportunity to play with them this event. So, yeah.
Q. Liyana, you mentioned Mirabel is the GOAT for you.
LIYANA DURISIC: Oh, yeah.
Q. Elaborate on that. Why is she the GOAT?
LIYANA DURISIC: Last year she was the only one that won twice on the Epson Tour and she is just getting all Top 10s and she bombs it down the fairway. She has no fear, absolutely no fare when it comes to playing golf. I'm going to Stage II after this and she was just telling me everything about the course is easy, you're going to tear that course up.
She was coming from a place with such confidence that it was so admirable to listen to and to just watch her be in her element. And the fact that she thinks I could also do it too is very wholesome, so that means I just have to go into myself just as much as she believes in me.
Winning twice on Epson Tour, No, 1 on the Epson and etiquette getting her card, only GOATs do that, so...
