MLB WORLD SERIES: RAYS VS BREWERS

October 27, 2026

Yandy Diaz

St. Petersburg, Florida, USA

Tropicana Field

Tampa Bay Rays

Pregame 4 Press Conference

Q. There's a lot of players throughout the history of the game, Hall of Famers included, that never made it to a World Series, but you're in your second World Series now. How do you kind of enjoy the moment but also recognize the task that is being down 3-0 in a World Series?

YANDY DÍAZ: It's hard not to be upset, being down here in the series 3-0. So it's a matter of being positive, but also looking at it from a 50-50 standpoint. I'm happy to be here, but also just disappointed that we are down three games and now we have to win out to accomplish what we need to accomplish.

Q. What has been the mood in the clubhouse walking in today? Has anybody said anything? Do you expect that anybody will before this game starts?

YANDY DÍAZ: We're trying to stay positive. Everybody understands what's going on. We're trying to stay positive as best we can, but people understand what's going on right now. We're trying to do our best to have a positive mindset and go from there.

Q. What would you say led to you guys being down 3-0? Is it that you're not doing things you guys normally did during the season, or you're doing things wrong? Or is it that they're doing so much right and then making it too tough? Where would you kind of put that?

YANDY DÍAZ: We've had a few errors that just kind of show that we haven't been ourselves necessarily. But aside from that too, credit to Milwaukee. Milwaukee's been doing a lot of great things on the field and just being themselves and playing to an elite, elite level.

So you give credit a lot to Milwaukee because they've done a lot of things to give themselves the wins in these three games.

Q. If you do fall short of your goal, how will you look back on this season?

YANDY DÍAZ: I think it will be a phenomenal season. At the beginning of the year, media, a lot of people around the league counted us out. They didn't have us in the postseason, but look at us now, we're here in the World Series.

Definitely can't hang our head with everything because it was a very successful year. I think it was a fantastic year for a lot of reasons.

Q. Yandy, you're such a successful hitter in your career. What has impressed you the most about Milwaukee's lineup and the quality at-bats they've had in this series so far?

YANDY DÍAZ: Yeah, it's definitely impressive. From 1 through 9, they've done a good job. Just the entire lineup has been able to string hits together. You look at the at-bats they've had and their ability to move through the lineup, it's definitely a very impressive thing.

Q. Just curious if you have had or will have a message yourself for the team before tonight's game?

YANDY DÍAZ: No, I'm not necessarily one to be the guy before a game to hype up the rest of the team. Look, everybody knows that we're losing. It's not easy, but everybody's aware of it. So we've just got to have a positive mindset and go from there.

Look, we're down 3-0 in the series, but we're not down 4-0. It's going to be hard to come back from this, but it's not impossible. So I think everybody just has to have the right mindset moving forward.

Q. What do you think of that T-shirt, and where did you get it?

YANDY DÍAZ: (Laughter). Yeah, it was just a company that made it for me. As you can tell, I look pretty good in it.

Q. Is it medium well?

YANDY DÍAZ: Yeah, this one's cooked pretty well.
