Press Conference
ANNIKA MAYERS: Okay, joining us ahead of the Maybank Championship is our defending champion, Miyu Yamashita. Miyu, you won here last year. How does it feel to be back as defending champion?
MIYU YAMASHITA: So I'm coming back here and I'm really happy to be back here as the defending champion. Yesterday and Sunday -- no, Monday and Tuesday, today, I played nine holes and my feeling is really good.
ANNIKA MAYERS: You've had a really great season; already won multiple times. How much confidence do you have in your golf game right now?
MIYU YAMASHITA: So I'm really happy to win many times this year and I feel really fulfilled, and I'm really looking forward to the Asian Swing.
So looking forward to playing here.
ANNIKA MAYERS: What is your favorite part about Malaysia?
MIYU YAMASHITA: Everyone here is so kind and they're all being really welcoming. It's really hot out there but I'm trying to hydrate and doing my best.
Q. What are the pressures of being a defending champion?
MIYU YAMASHITA: So I don't really feel much pressure. And I've been really looking forward to playing here as defending champion, so I hope a lot of fans come out to watch us at the tournament.
Q. Welcome back. Just a quick question on your thoughts on the golf course. Obviously you like it. You won here last year. What does it take to score low on the West Course, KLGCC?
MIYU YAMASHITA: So I think a lot of consistency with my shots is really important, because there are lots of tricky holes out here. So I'll focus on hitting second shots.
