Q. Freddy's been so good for you. What did you see tonight was the difference?
KEVIN CASH: Just a little out of sync. I think he felt really good. Tried to power through it a little bit. Got a little bit rotational mechanically. I know him and Kyle talked about. Just inconsistencies in and out of the strike zone led to a bunch of really good at-bats by the Brewer lineup.
Q. Booser, again, has been so good for you. A rough stretch with four straight.
KEVIN CASH: Yeah, it was. Turang hangs in there, gets a 2-2 count. Booser trying to throw a strike. Smokes a ball right up the middle. Wallsy always makes a play, and then it just kind of unraveled from there.
Q. Jackson Chourio was tough to stop today. He was the igniter. Could you tell me why he was tough to stop?
KEVIN CASH: He's a really good player, very good hitter, seeing the ball well right now. I think he got three hits on three different pitches. Covering a bunch of pitches.
We saw him earlier in Milwaukee shoot balls the other way, stay on some pitches. Today let it go a little bit and drove some pitches.
Q. Did it feel like the game just inches away, the ball off Walls' glove, the one off Junior's glove?
KEVIN CASH: Early on, it felt like we hit some balls off Gasser with nothing to show for it. They got some guys on base and found some holes, but then they opened it up with some hard at-bats and good contact.
Q. It went from 2-0 to 7-0 with three pitches. That has to be somewhat deflating in the dugout?
KEVIN CASH: It's definitely deflating. How could it not be?
Q. Kevin, your view on the play at short that was reviewed. Did Caminero have a play at first on William? What was your view of it?
KEVIN CASH: Yeah, he might have had a play at Contreras getting down the first base line. Don't fault Cammy at all. That ball is a hard hit ground ball, topspin, took him almost back to the grass or the turf. Understood why he thought the best avenue was to go to second. But it was a good job by, I think, Yelich busting it to second base and getting there safe.
It's easy to go back and look at. I've got the advantage of an iPad. Cammy doesn't have that. So he's doing everything he can to make the play right then and the best decision at that moment.
Q. Just kind of the other side of it, obviously Yandy to get you started and then nothing until the ninth inning. How was the offense shut down so much?
KEVIN CASH: Like I said, I thought we hit balls early on. We hit them to the wrong guy. We kept hitting them to Turang. He's proven he can field hard ground balls.
Then Gasser did a tremendous job of just mixing. He's got a quick arm. Pitched to the edges, filled up the strike zone. We felt we were 0-1 just about every at-bat. One inning where he -- I think he had a five-pitch inning, and we helped him out a little bit by just being overly aggressive.
After that, you're looking at guys, let's see if we can get some pitches on him. But when he goes 0-1 to you, you've got to be ready to hit.
Q. In the late innings with the score where it was, did you think about saving the bullpen and putting a position player out there?
KEVIN CASH: No.
Q. You're going to hear a lot about history, obviously going forward now. I assume your focus has to just be on beating the Brewers tomorrow and then kind of separate the rest?
KEVIN CASH: I think so. It's kind of that chip and a chair mentality. We've got a seat at the table. We've got to do something with the chip. Obviously the only thing we can do is win tomorrow.
