Q. Jackson Chourio was your igniter today. Could you talk about the game he had. He had four hits. What did you think about what he did?
PAT MURPHY: He was tremendous. He was tremendous. Locked in. Gives us a big lift. You lead off the game with that knock, even though we didn't score a run, it just gives us a big lift.
Q. You once compared him to a young Kobe Bryant because he had the tendency like, as you said, four shots. Today do you compare him to the great Kobe Bryant?
PAT MURPHY: I compared him to Kobe Bryant because he was named after Kobe, you know what I mean? He loves Kobe. Breaking in the league at 20 years old and doing the things he did at 20. I don't know. I'm not claiming that he -- I don't know what Kobe exactly was like at 20, but it's pretty special what this kid's doing.
Q. Murph, you scored eight runs in one inning. What did you like about your offense tonight?
PAT MURPHY: The whole game was changed when Yeli was safe at second. That's just a hustle play. When your leader makes that play, that says it all. The game was changed because he did a little thing that anybody can do. The first baseman with the right-handed hitter played way off. Yeli took advantage of that, got as far out as he could, safe at second. That's a game changer right there.
That gives you another pitch, and that's sometimes all you need. Another pitch is enough. Turang comes out huge. We get the starter out of the game.
Freddy threw the ball great, and we got a dumper knock -- another dumper knock over the third baseman's head. It is not like we were hitting them hard. Chourio had two hard contacts, but he was doing fine.
Then with two outs, Yeli makes that play. That was just vintage leadership. Then Turang has a huge at-bat and opens the game up.
Q. Murph, you've been one of the best two-out run-scoring teams in baseball all year. Does this kind of epitomize what's you've done from the beginning?
PAT MURPHY: Whether it's one out, two out, whatever it is, the guys play hard. It's evident the guys play hard. They don't give in. They make every pitch count, and that's what it takes to win.
That's the same thing that Tampa did all year. That team is very, very capable. This is a best-of-seven series. It looks like we're in the driver's seat, but it's baseball. Anything can happen.
I like the way we battle. I'm going to choose us when we can. I'm going to believe in us when you can, because they proved it tonight. You give them an inch, sometimes they break through and keep going. It was pretty special.
Q. In Game 2, all your starters got on base. Today you had all your position players in, and you even got Woodruff in the end. How special is it to have everyone really contribute?
PAT MURPHY: You don't get to play in the World Series too often in life. Woody's been in the game, I don't know how many years. Like this would be season 10, I believe, in the Big Leagues or parts of season 10. To give him a chance to go out there, he busted his fanny to do it, and it's important to do that.
Yeah, it was a great moment. I felt great about it. I think the guys did too. There's a lot of baseball left, you know. You've got to keep playing.
Q. Your fans have set records for ticket sales back at home, for merchandise sales. When did you notice the big turnout tonight, and do you have a message for the people who traveled here?
PAT MURPHY: It was unbelievable, and our players felt it, and they'll tell you about it. The players looked around like wow. You could tell even during introductions, like there was a lot of people here from the Brewers.
That's a statement about how much this team has captured the hearts of the people from Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin, all the Brewer fans.
It was amazing, the level of support we got tonight. It was incredible.
Q. Going back to Jackson, eight hits in three games. Is this the best stretch you've seen of him given the context of the World Series and also the quality at-bats he's taken?
PAT MURPHY: Nobody's surprised that Jack Jack's doing this. Nobody's surprised. He's turning into -- 20, 21, 22, he's turning into a fine player. He's understanding what it takes, the discipline that it takes. He's coming into his own. Nobody's shocked. He's just really, really good.
He's also played incredible defense, and he stole a base tonight. He's a total player. Like we talked about, you ask about Kobe Bryant and him. Kobe strived to get better and better and better every year because he was so disciplined. He was such a worker. He had such an attitude. Jackson's on that same track.
