Quick Quotes
Q. How do you feel about your round today?
BOKYEOM PARK: This is my first LPGA tournament, so I'm happy to have played well today and finished the day on a positive note.
Q. You shot a much lower score today than you did yesterday. What do you think made the biggest difference?
BOKYEOM PARK: The wind was definitely a lot lighter today than it was yesterday. The rain with the forecast for tomorrow, it seems like the wind has died down quite a bit. With less wind to deal with, it was much easier to judge the conditions and adjust my shots accordingly. I am that helped me hit a lot of good shots, and ultimately, finish strong.
Q. This is a links-style course right by the coast. Have you played many courses like this before, and did you have to come up with any specific strategies to suit the conditions here?
BOKYEOM PARK: Well, the name of the course itself is pine beach. So you know it's going to be pretty windy. The KLPGA has events in Jeju in a cup a couple of times a year, maybe two or three times, and I've generally had good results when it's windy.
So I think if I focus a little more on judging the wind and adjusting my shots accordingly, I tend to play well.
Q. You mentioned that this is your first LPGA event and winning this week could earn you a spot on the LPGA Tour. Has the possibility of doing well this week made you even more eager to win and take that next step?
BOKYEOM PARK: There are still 36 holes to go but if I get the opportunity, I'd absolutely love to make it to the LPGA. I really want to have a good week but there's still a lot of golf left to play. So I just need to take it one shot at a time, and stay patient and keep myself calm out there.
Q. You spent part of your childhood in Saipan, which is also surrounded by the ocean. Do you think playing golf in those conditions back then has helped you learn to judge the wind and adjust to different weather conditions out on tour?
BOKYEOM PARK: Yes, I actually first started playing golf in Saipan, but I was such a beginner back then that I'm not sure how much it really helps. Still, since I was first introduced to golf in a place where it was pretty windy, I guess it might have helped a little bit.
