Pit Lane Interview
Q. Ryan, second. Where did it go away today?
RYAN BLANEY: I mean, I thought the first run of the race we were pretty good. Had the yellow there, lost some track position. I didn't seem as good after that. The 22 got good, the 20 got good, the 19.
We worked on our car really hard through the day to get better. That was great. I thought before the past pit stop we drove up to fourth or fifth.
So proud of the effort everyone sticking with it all day, fighting it out, giving us a shot to win at the end. Didn't quite have enough to chase down the 45.
Overall really proud of the effort. Appreciate Menards and Richmond and Ford Racing for what they do. A lot of points today. Hard to be upset about that. Try to go the next two weeks and do the same.
Q. What is your thought on that going to Talladega next week just 40 back?
RYAN BLANEY: Control what you can control. I feel like we do a great job in our building of working together and having each other's backs. I feel like we're going to do the same thing this upcoming week. Bring fast cars. It will be a fun one. Definitely attainable. We'll have to go to work.
Q. With the miscues on pit road, did that set you back when you were back in traffic? Did that change your car?
RYAN BLANEY: Yeah, a little bit. We had one problem on the left rear. Really lost us a lot of positions. Our car got pretty good at that point. We were able to get back up to sixth, I think.
That hurt. Overall those guys had a good day with what they had. We were able to put a solid stop together at the end.
