Q. Eugenio, your love affair with India continues. Your very first win on the DP World Tour came in this country and now you have done it again: You are the winner of the DP World India Championship.
How good does that sound?
EUGENIO CHACARRA: Yeah, it's great. All the hard work, came close the last couple weeks, and yeah, I wanted to get one to get up in the rankings, and I played really good. Last round was tough. Really tiring waking up three days in a row 4:00 a.m. My body wasn't there. I didn't feel good.
It's hard to go in a big lead. You don't really want to push but you want to, guys making birdies. So it was something that I knew didn't happened before and it was a new experience, but really proud of my short game and how I grinded and stayed patient.
Q. Look, that's now three wins this season, four titles on the DP World Tour. Have you surprised yourself with just how quickly you've become one of the most dominant players out here?
EUGENIO CHACARRA: Well, yeah. I mean, I know what I'm capable of. I was one of the best amateurs in the world and I wanted to be one of the best professional players in the world.
I work really hard. I got a great team surrounding me. They pushed me. My family, everyone back home, they're always trying to make me better. I think we been doing a great job with our and obviously it's paying off. Really thankful for it.
Like I always say, we need to keep working because that last round wasn't what I wanted it to be.
Q. This is a wold-class field. You've got Ryder Cup stars, former world No. 1s, major champions, you name it, but you're the man who has finished out on top.
EUGENIO CHACARRA: Yeah, I told Luke back in the day I want to be on that team not just a pick. I want to be one of the six spots.
So that's one of the goals we have on the team. I'm working really hard for it. We are still a year away, but I know what I'm capable of. I know I'm a good player. I got a lot of charisma, and I just want to keep getting better and keep winning.
Q. Look, this win means you're now at the top of the Race to Dubai rankings. How special would it be to add your list to the likes the Seve and Rahm? You have a real opportunity to win that special title.
EUGENIO CHACARRA: Yeah, it would mean the world. Those two guys are heros for me as Spanish golfer. Seve did everything for European and Spanish golf, and then Jon, it's a guy that I've been looking up since he went to college and professional golf, what he has accomplished, it's amazing. Hopefully I can put my name on that trophy, too. That's one of the goals.
I know it's not going to be easy. Rory in Dubai always plays good and I know it's going to be a big battle. Patrick, too. Two of the best players in the world coming for me now, and I know they're not going to make it easy.
Q. In the last three weeks you finished third, second, and now first. Where do you go from here?
EUGENIO CHACARRA: Keep winning. You know, that's why we tee it up. I'll see you guys out in Korea.
