Quick Quotes

Q. Dan, impressive performance from you this week. How pleased are you with the fight you showed right through to the very end?

DANIEL HILLIER: Yeah. Pretty tiring week. Obviously few delays out there. Pretty hot, which I'm not usually a fan of. You know, the old (indiscernible) is we don't do well in the heat.

Yeah, I think I was like 4-over through 14 holes in the first round or something, and I don't know what happened, what clicked. Yeah, I just started finding the club face and holing a few putts. The rest is history.

Q. It's not easy to mentally turn things round with loads of things thrown into the equation. How did you manage that and how proud are you of the way you turned things round?

DANIEL HILLIER: Yeah, I think after that start I just kind of started free wheeling it a little bit. Maybe a little bit tense, trying to get a little bit too much coming back from a pretty good week last year at the same joint.

Yeah, obviously wanted to do well again. Yeah, I think once I got off to that start it kind of freed me up a little bit.

Yeah, I mean, just keep going after that first 8-under. To do it back to back and follow it up with a pretty good one at the end is pretty cool.

Q. You're within touching distance of that PGA Tour card. You came so close last year as well. How pleased are you with the way you've really come back stronger in 2026?

DANIEL HILLIER: Yeah, Foxy, has been heating it on all year, so hopefully -- I don't know if that will solidify ir or not, but playing golf together and trying to play my best golf, and, yeah, if I can solidify the card it would be amazing.

Yeah, great to focus on (indiscernible) out to America next year.

Q. You mentioned Foxy. He was there to watch you finish. You were there to watch him lift the Claret Jug. How important are these friendships on Tour as well?

DANIEL HILLIER: Yeah, it's crucial. Obviously we're a long way from home a lot of the time, so, yeah, it's pretty cool to have some familiar faces around. He is such a great guy as well, pretty easygoing, so, yeah, always good time with him.
