A. DAVIDOVICH FOKINA/A. Zverev
5-7, 6-4, 6-3
THE MODERATOR: Alejandro, well done. You said on court that it's the best win of your career. Have you had time to reflect further on what you achieved today?
ALEJANDRO DAVIDOVICH FOKINA: Well, not yet. I just had 45 minutes to try to recover, so I didn't speak with my team yet about the match, just a little, but not fully.
Of course, I'm very happy how I performed today, how I come back from the first set. So, I will have time tonight to realize all the match, and to see where I can improve for tomorrow and for the future.
Q. Incredible match, incredible serve percentage. We spoke the other day about the other times that you play at this kind of level in later stages. If I ask you now, do you feel that results like this are still an exception or is where your tennis can belong?
ALEJANDRO DAVIDOVICH FOKINA: Well, at the end, this year was a little bit complicated with all the injuries that I have, so I cannot be very consistent this year.
I think I was playing very good mostly all the year, but I hope, if I'm healthy next year and during the end of the year this year, so maybe I can prove, no, to myself that I can be a very good player, and to be in the top rankings.
Q. You've lost quite a few ATP Finals, tough losses, and this year you finally win two, and now you beat the world No. 1. Do you feel like every tennis player needs this one huge breakthrough victory that can completely change the trajectory of their careers?
ALEJANDRO DAVIDOVICH FOKINA: Maybe. I think when you lose many finals and you win at the end one final, I think you relieve yourself, no, and you can express more, and you have more confidence in these kind of situations.
So, maybe when the players win, no, after many, many finals, they can prove themself they can do it, I think they play better, no, as I said, in these situations.
