Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Gaby Lopez after her final round at the Buick LPGA Shanghai. Kind of talk about the final round. Battling to get under par this week and put together one of the best rounds of the day. What did you finally figure out on this golf course?
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, I feel it's a tough golf course. I love it. It's a major golf course for sure for us. I think the setup was amazing today, so it allows you to, you know, have difficult holes and then some opportunities.
We drove the ball really well today. Hit irons really well. Couple putts dropped today. I think I was -- my game was in a really good position the first three days. I was just not scoring and it was a little frustrating.
Today with a fearless attitude I put it together.
Q. And then you mentioned this golf course being a major championship golf course. Obviously our first time here. How much does just repetition come with playing difficult golf courses like this?
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, for sure. I mean, the first three days it blew probably 15, 20 miles per hour, and on this golf course, if you don't hit the fairway you're screwed.
So being able to have a little lower wind and the more you see the golf course the more familiar you are to it, and kind of you lose a little bit of respect to some of the holes for sure.
So, yeah, I think being able to hit fairways, and yeah, aggressive when you have a chance with a wedge in your hand.
Q. It's our first event here in the Asia Swing. Talk about the event this week and the fans.
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, I love China. I mean, the people are very enthusiastic. They're very friendly. They get a little emotional at times.
But, yeah, I like it here. I feel when I'm in Asia I kind of disconnect from Mexico, U.S. and it's kind of "me" time every day. I have my routine for recovery. I love it out here and I'm very proud of how we played today.
