Q. Here with Grace Kim after the first round of the Buick LPGA Shanghai. Grace, 4-under 68. Can you just kind of talk about just being here at a new golf course, Buick and Sheshan and the history that comes with it?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, obviously knowing that men have been here for a long time in the past and it plays to that standard as well. It's playing really long for us. Even the course conditions, it's just been so refreshing to be out here.

Yeah, really excited to be here.

Q. And then got off to a pretty good start. Had a few speed bumps at the turn and three birdies finishing. What's been one of the most important things to make birdies out here this week?

GRACE KIM: I think, look, it's just trying to be as patient as possible. Again, like you have got -- for me anyway I have a lot of hybrids in, so making sure that I'm not getting ahead of myself with getting greedy or not making birdies, and just, yeah, taking the opportunities on the short holes to make those birdies.

Yeah, when it does come to those long holes, yeah, play a safe, fairways and green.

Q. You mentioned the short holes. When you come to those short holes, do you feel like you really have to try to make birdie there to maybe move up the leaderboard in this situation?

GRACE KIM: I guess, yes, but in a sense, like, you know, golf in general, just try not to force it. Yeah, making sure you have the right game plan and strategy speaking with your caddie, and even if it feels weird laying up with an iron knowing your wedge game is strong to make that birdie and pitch it close I think really gets the ball rolling.

Q. Pretty good turnout here for a Thursday. Can you talk about what it's like to be in China around all these fans?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, I mean, I didn't play the last few years and I think I have missed it. Obviously they love their golf here. It is really nice to have that support on the golf course, all throughout, so it's been really nice so far on a Thursday.
