Quick Quotes
GINA KIM: ... satisfying to convert some birdies and snag one right on the last hole before I finished, so it was fun.
Q. Being a new course and obviously coming back out here again to the LPGA, do you feel like you kind of are on a level playing field when it comes to maybe some of the other players not having played courses a handful of times?
GINA KIM: Yeah, for sure. I told myself that this is a new course that everyone hasn't seen yet. I thought maybe this might be a good place to try to capitalize on that and put myself in a good place.
I thought I did exactly that today.
Q. What do you feel like have to do out here to be able to shoot some low scores?
GINA KIM: I think you got to the drive the ball well. It's really tight, really narrow, you know, some holes are a little more winding than others, and it's a bit long.
So you got to hit it well, hopefully get as far as you can out there in the fairway, and I usually think that is what helped me for today.
And so just putting, driving the ball well, and hope for the best.
Q. You got a win earlier this year; into the fall Asia Swing you have to be playing some good golf to be here right now. Coming back from the Epson Tour, what does it mean to be out in this Asia Swing before we head back to the states in a few weeks?
GINA KIM: Gosh, I'm so grateful to be out here. Last time I was out here was three years ago, specifically this whole Asia Swing.
I'm just grateful to have a tee time. I think Epson Tour really solidified that gratefulness, that gratitude in me. And, yeah, I mean, new course, coming back to Shanghai again, it has always been lovely.
Next year for the BMW will be my first time competing in front of family and that has always been a dream of mine, so this year's Asia Swing especially is a little more special than other years.
