Q. You can talk about tennis, but first of all your style, your new outfit and your new look. How could you describe this, and does it reflect how you're playing right now?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: Well, I always said like if you feel good with what you're wearing, with the outfit and style, I think it's much better, you know, the confidence is pretty high, and you feel better when you step on the court. Right now I'm just, yeah, I'm changing a little bit, and trying to decide the outfit I'm going to where on court, which I'm just really happy about them. I'm feeling really comfortable and confident with them. So, trying to play really good tennis and trying to go far in the tournament, just to be able to wear them as much as I can.

Q. The internet is going crazy with you and your team's mustache. Can you tell me the story about that?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: It was just about a bet. I wanted to play with a mustache, trying how I look with it. So, and, yeah, the tournament of Tokyo, we said, Okay, if I win the tournament, we all have to do the mustache for Shanghai. So let's see until when we're going to wear it, but right now we're just having fun and laughing around.

Q. What did you think about your level today?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: Well, I think it was really, really good. First match of every tournament is never easy. Conditions are really different, quite different than Tokyo. I only had two days here to adapt myself. I didn't practice on the center court, so I just stepped on the court trying to find how fast is the court, how the conditions are out there, and trying to play my best.

At the beginning it was a little bit uncomfortable for me, didn't get the good rhythm. Suddenly, I just realized that I have to play aggressive, trying to go to the net as much as I can, and I think it worked.

So, happy about it, and let's see if I'm going to play a little bit better in the next round.
