AL DIVISION SERIES: WHITE SOX VS GUARDIANS

October 7, 2026

Stephen Vogt

Chicago, Illinois, USA

Rate Field

Cleveland Guardians

Postgame 3 Press Conference

Guardians 9, White Sox 3

Q. You mentioned pregame about wanting to have the ability to either pump up 50,000 or shut up 50,000. How big was the hit from Joe in the third inning and kind of help you guys get the momentum going early on?

STEPHEN VOGT: I just want to comment. What a great atmosphere. That was awesome to hear the fans going crazy. Really cool to be a part of that.

Obviously Joe with the big hit to give us a little bit of cushion was huge. We continued to pile on. I think that's been the difference of the first couple games to today was Game 2, we were able to get a couple runs but weren't able to add on.

But really good job by our guys today.

Q. Coach, how did it feel for José Ramírez to break out finally here in the postseason? Struggled a little bit but came up big for you guys in Game 3.

STEPHEN VOGT: Like we talked about pregame, Josy, we always know he's one swing away. When he hit that first ball in the first inning, the line-out, great play by Grichuk. You knew he was here. He creates a run with his legs. Josy, that's why he's one of the best players in the league. He can hurt you with the bat, the legs, and the glove. He showed all that today.

Q. With Foster today, first time he's pitched in two weeks. First time out of the bullpen this season. What impressed you the most about him coming in in that situation?

STEPHEN VOGT: Huge at-bat in the first, gets a punch-out and turned in three really quality innings that we needed. Again, you can draw up a script all you want. You can think how a game's going to go. But Foster, he got some big outs, nine very big outs for us today. So tip your cap to Foster.

Q. What happens with the pressure now when it's 2-1 and you've got to win tomorrow to get it back home? The White Sox have one more crack to win it at home. What do you make of where it sits?

STEPHEN VOGT: I think pressure is external. You only feel the pressure you put on yourself. So we had pressure today. It's win or go home. So it's no different tomorrow: Win or go home. We have an opportunity to win a ball game and get back to Cleveland. We know they're going to come out ready to go because they want to close it out at home. It's going to be another exciting game.

We only play exciting games against each other. It's been like that all year. We just need to come out and be ourselves.

THE MODERATOR: Vogter, thanks, see you tomorrow.
