Q. José, you've been coming here for a long time. How big of a challenge did needing to win twice here seem coming in, and then now what does it look like, having won one game?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: I mean, we came here to compete. That's what they did also when they went home. They won two games. We can do it too. Our mindset is the same, just come here tomorrow, win one more game, and keep going.
Q. José, how did you feel about being able to break out in Game 3 of the series?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: Thank God it's not only about myself. It's all about the team too. So all the team was able to have good ABs. For me, that's the most important. We're going to come tomorrow and try to do our best.
Q. José, how did it feel to get that ground-out against Vargas and kind of shift the momentum almost a little bit for you guys?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: I felt it was a significant shift in momentum in the game when we were able to make that play. I felt like this is going to be our game. Things haven't turned out the last couple games when we were not on the lucky side. After that play, it was, okay, this is our game to win, and that's what we were able to do.
Q. José, how satisfying is it to have a game like this after kind of the struggles you've been through since coming back from the hand surgery?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: It feels special. You know the type of season I had, but it's important for us to win any game going forward because for us it's do-or-die. So it feels really good. Feels good to help the team. But for us, it's the same mindset going forward.
Q. So your first at-bat tonight, you hit one almost 108 miles an hour off the bat. In the series where you hadn't had a hit yet, you kind of squared one up early and maybe that got you going a little bit. Was there something about that at-bat that helped you settle in the game and allow you to perform the way you did?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: I feel like, I mean, I take it all like this. It was a good one. I was able to square up. For me, regardless, it's always the same approach, trying to get on base, get a good hit. But that's not going to alter how I face the other ABs going forward.
Q. José, how important was the defensive play at third base with the bases loaded?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: Like I say, it was really important. I think that shift the whole momentum. Because after that, maybe they scored two or three and the game is tied. For me, we also take pride in our defense, and it was important for us to secure that play in defense as well.
