Q. Sorry about the match result today and the retirement. Were you feeling anything prior to going into the match?

ALEX DE MINAUR: No, I wasn't. I was feeling quite good, then I felt something midway end of the first set. Yeah, it gradually got a little worse.

Q. Can you give us any insight into what the injury is?

ALEX DE MINAUR: Felt something in the adductor. I don't know what it is yet. I've got to get some more scans.

Q. Do you know if you're able to go to Shanghai at this point or just go get scans and go from there?

ALEX DE MINAUR: My plan is to go to Shanghai and get scans.

Q. Despite the injury, it's been a really positive Asian Swing for you. You had a great tournament here in Beijing. Can you hopefully take some positives away moving into the rest of the season?

ALEX DE MINAUR: Yeah, I mean, everything except for the end was really positive. There was a lot of good tennis. I played some great stuff. Felt amazing on the court. Yeah, a lot of confidence from this first week.
