THE MODERATOR: We'll get started with José.
Q. What's the team's mentality, going down 2-0, and winning a game now?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: Just to continue competing. We know we have to win three games, and that's always been the mindset so far. Just stay the same and try to stay competing.
Q. José, I know you've said your wrist is still bothering you on some days. When do you feel it the most? Is it when you're hitting righty or in the field? Is there a certain time you feel it the most?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: It's hard to put together into one day, what specifically is triggering the pain. But to me, that's secondary for me. It's always the mindset to try to find a way to win. That's not going to get in the way of me trying to do the best I can.
Q. José, is it possible you might need more surgery after the season is over? On your hand.
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: No, no. It's not going to require any more surgeries.
Q. José, would you different as a leader on the team during a time like this where you're in an elimination game, or is it important for you to just always stay the person you are as a teammate and leader?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: There's nothing to change. I feel the guys are in a good spot, a good mentality to compete. Let's be realistic; one of the teams is going to win, one is going to lose. For us it's trying to do the best. For us, it's the same business trying to win, and we're ready to keep competing.
Q. José, how does this surgery compare to the one you had in 2019 on your right hand? As you see it, what's the biggest difference?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: I feel it feels like the same. I mean, there's no difference. I feel I was a little lucky when I came back and hit a couple of homers right off the bat. In reality, you need time to let it recover. That time I had at least three months to feel back to normal. So I feel there's nothing different in this case.
Q. What kind of atmosphere are you guys expecting here tomorrow night? Is there anything you can do as a player or anything you have to do mentally to prepare for when you're walking into that type of hostile sort of situation?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: I mean, it's not the first time that we've played in the playoffs on the road. I know the fans are going to clearly cheer for the team. For us the mindset is very clear: We've got to win another game because we don't have the luxury to lose another one. So that's the mindset, to do whatever we can to win, wherever we're playing.
Q. José, do you see Murakami being a difference in their team? In other words, does he bring something different as far as not fear with the other team, but automatic respect that he can turn a game around?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: I mean, in reality, you're competing against them, right? You have credit. They're Major League players. They're here in the league for a reason. But you don't want to get overimpressed with anybody because we're trying to compete. My focus is to trying to help my team find ways to win. Yeah, he's a good player. Credit to them. But for me, the focus is what can we do as a team and how can I make my teammates better.
Q. José, what's been the biggest challenge for you guys offensively so far this series? What do you make of the way the offense is producing so far?
JOSÉ RAMIREZ: There's no secret it's been a struggle. As we say, it's one day at a time. Who knows, tomorrow we start. We start exploding, being more aggressive offensively, then everything changes. But for us, it's one game at a time.
THE MODERATOR: José, thank you.
