Quick Quotes

Q. Birdie on the last to close out the week. Just talk about how it was overall for you.

ZAC BLAIR: Yeah, fun week, played pretty solid. Wish I would have maybe made a few more on the back nine today. Yeah, solid week. Kind of no bogeys on the weekend, I think, which is always nice.

Just needed to play just a little better probably on Friday, but overall a fun week seeing everybody. Being down here is always good.

Q. You're going to end up about the same finish as last year while shooting five strokes better. Why do you think scores are so much lower this year?

ZAC BLAIR: I think just a little earlier in the year, course is a little softer. Never really firmed up honestly, kind of felt like it was the softest all week today, which is a little unfortunate. That's not, I don't think, how you want the golf tournament to be.

It's so hot, they're definitely keeping the grass alive and want it to look green and nice on TV. But yeah, just a bit softer.

Q. Driver off the deck on 18, running it up there, snaking it between the two outcroppings of rock on both sides, really a nail shot that you executed so perfectly. Tell us about that.

ZAC BLAIR: I knew a birdie would go a long way, and I felt -- I'd hit that shot earlier in the week, maybe in the pro-am or something like that. I knew I could hit it if I got a good lie and had a pretty good lie, and 5 wood wasn't enough. So I figured it was worth -- even if I topped it, I felt like it was going to go straight enough to just hit a wedge in.

Yeah, it was nice to actually hit one good.

Q. This is the third year in a row I've come out to cover you here at this event. Each year you've gotten better, particularly, let's say, Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Looking back on how you played, have you learned something that was different that you didn't know when you shot minus 2 the first time you were here?

ZAC BLAIR: Not really. Just some weeks you play better than others. This week definitely on the weekend, kind of had the putter rolling a little better. I feel like I shot 6-under yesterday, 5-under today. Just two good rounds with not a lot of mistakes.

Q. Then I saw on the 9th hole, I think that was some family members out there with you?

ZAC BLAIR: Yeah, my wife was out all week, my dad. My dad was out a bit, I think two or three of the days, and the kids maybe came out after scoring, which is fun. So yeah, a bunch of friends out, which is always nice too.

Q. I heard the PA announcer when he announced you on the 1st tee saying St. George resident. You're officially a St. George resident now.

ZAC BLAIR: My dad lives down here, so I spend a lot of time down here. It's always nice to be back.

Q. To go bogey-free on the weekend, obviously you would have liked to have shot a little lower, but that's job one is to avoid bogeys, right?

ZAC BLAIR: Yeah. I've been pretty good honestly the whole week. I think the first round I just had that one double on 7 then fell asleep a little bit on Friday. That kind of seems to be my MO a little bit is that one round that kind of gets away from you.

Yeah, I did everything I could, I felt like, on the weekend, made a bunch of big par putts today, particularly on like holes 8 through 16. Had a bunch of spots where I could have let a few get away and kind of battled. It was plus or minus pretty good.

Q. How does the rest of the year look, Korn Ferry next week and then back to this one?

ZAC BLAIR: I think I'll go play the Korn Ferry event next week. It's kind of the final one. 60 players, no cut. I feel like I probably need a win to get my card that way. It's definitely a chance.

Then I think I don't know where I'll reshuffle and where that will kind of end up going into the next six events. I think there's five or six events left. I guess I'll just play all the ones I get in.
