ALFRED DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

October 4, 2026

Robert MacIntyre

St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland

Quick Quotes

Q. A stellar defence, weren't to be today. What was your thoughts on the week overall?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: I thought I played well. Just too many double bogeys. I went for 10 and thought that was my chance. The problem was if you laid it up when everyone was hitting it, you leave yourself, 170, and 180 on one of the easiest holes on the golf course.

I thought I'm going to try to sling driving driver with the wind and get it past the one bunker that you can, really go in, and unfortunately in the bunker. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was the wedge shot into the green was poor. Then you three-putt it and double-bogey kills you. Yeah, not a bad week.

Q. Wind was up to 25 miles an hour at times. How difficult was that? A lot of holes were crosswind as well.

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Every hole was crosswind, apart from 11. But literally every single hole felt like it was across and it was one of them ones -- I had a couple howler of shots -- I hit good shots but they are miles out in distance.

Q. 16, it was.

ROBERT MacINTYRE: I chunked that. Hit my second shot into, I think it was 2. I'm playing that in off the left and I flushed it, 8-iron, and it's flown the green by eight yards. It was difficult. You think it's downwind and hit a club and it comes up 30 yards short. It was difficult.

Felt like I controlled my game and temperament fairly well this week. Seems to be the same way that I've played all year. It's just not been quite on it from start to finish but that's okay, we'll get better.

Q. And that's because of the high standards you've set for yourself over the last couple of years, isn't it.

ROBERT MacINTYRE: It's just the way I used to play. Now, I've just got that disaster in the locker right now, but you know what, this is potentially the end of my season right here.

So yeah, I feel like it's been a good year and a learning curve to try to manage life outside of golf and life on the golf course. But yeah, it's been a great year.

Q. Pre-empted my next question, you jumped 17 or 18 places so at the moment, you're going to be in Abu Dhabi. Will you play in Abu Dhabi or when will you have to make a decision?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: I don't even know when the cutoff --

Q. After Korea?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: The week before. I'll have to literally wait and see. See what's going on in the Middle East, then I'll make a decision if I'm in the tournament. If I'm in the tournament, I'll make a decision.

Right now, before I played today, I'll probably play Bahamas as a little kind of see how my work's been getting on. We'll make a decision at that time.

Q. And Michael Stewart, at the moment he's tied for third place, and Monday, Tuesday, this week, he was in Duddingston?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Yeah, that's exactly what, when I spoke to you guys at Kingsbarns after a good second round, hopefully he can do something special that gives him a chance. Yeah, I'm not sure what he's going to do.

Q. He's not going to Madrid. He's qualified for Madrid but he's going to be playing game of golf because if he finishes in the top two Order of Merit, he gets a Challenge Tour card.

ROBERT MacINTYRE: I understand that.
