Q. These are two of the best bullpens in baseball. What's it like, (indiscernible) in the series, knowing how many arms there are?
JASON ADAM: Yeah, I mean, it was on full display last night. Yeah, it's a special group of players. I'll take our guys to battle in any series. And I think we got to see it last night.
We came out on the wrong side of it, but it was a well-pitched game on our end and obviously a well-pitched game on their end. So I think that's what you're gonna see for the rest of this series.
Q. Obviously you dealt with injury kind of down the stretch, came back, maybe just a little bit before that. Where are you now kind of in the whole, and just how are you feeling and bouncing back the day after?
JASON ADAM: Yeah, bounce-back is good. Injury feels great. Every outing you feel more in sync. So that's great. Want to be peaking at the right time.
But I feel fully healthy, ready to go. Arm feels good. Leg feels good. Body feels good. So I'm hoping that I can pitch every game the rest of the way.
Q. Just to go back to missing the postseason last year on a personal level for you, even with what you went through this year with injury, what has it meant to you to be available this time of year this time around?
JASON ADAM: Yeah, this is what we play the whole season for. So to miss that year hurt. And with the threat of missing it again this year, that would have hurt again.
But just thankful. You never want to take being in the postseason for granted. There's a lot of really successful players that never got to do this.
Really thankful to just do my part, try to contribute, help the team win a ball game. And these games, they matter more. We don't want to go home. We want to play for another, what, three and a half weeks. So really thankful to be here.
Q. From your perspective, what is it that makes your bullpen as special as it's been so far this season?
JASON ADAM: Obviously you look at Mason and Mo at the back end, and they're the elite of the elite. But I think what sets us apart from the rest of the bullpens across the league is the depth.
It doesn't matter -- I mean, every guy in that bullpen I would trust in any situation, and they can do it night in, night out.
It was special to watch when I was on the IL. I'm thankful I get to be a part of it now. But it's not just -- it's the elite we have the elite back end, but we also have the elite front end, if you want call it, and the depth and the consistency.
And I think Fritz does a great job dialing us in out there keeping us focused on what's important. And it's a very selfless group, too. No one cares about the glory. We just want to help the team win.
Q. Speaking of trust, you've got Michael King going today. You guys had a lot of arms out there yesterday. How much does it mean to have a guy like that who has shown how much he can do and how deep he can go in postseason games to maybe give you guys maybe a shred of a breather, because he can probably get through a longer start?
JASON ADAM: Yeah, Mike's an ace by every definition. And he takes that to the next level in the postseason. He showed that time and time again.
We love Michael King days. I'm excited to watch him go to work, and I will happily kick my feet up and watch the boys win today.
Q. You just described the bullpen as selfless. What do you think makes this group so selfless?
JASON ADAM: It's just great guys, great men. And it comes from the top-down. Fritz out there instills that in us.
Obviously our whole pitching staff, with Ruben and Happy, all those guys, they do a great job setting tone that our focus is on the team. And if that means -- I mean, look at Morejon's workload on the year. He's come in in every imaginable inning. There's guys with Morejon's stuff could easily demand and say, no, I'm going to be the closer, I'm going to be the setup man, this is my inning. But he doesn't.
Same with Mason. Mason could say, no, give me a clean ninth every time. No, he'll come in, he'll get a six-out save. And so when you have those guys setting tone, it trickles down through the whole bullpen that this isn't about us, it's not about me, it's about the team. And you could say the same thing through the offense, too. I think it's a team-wide personality.
