Q. What's your takeaway and evaluation of a night like tonight where maybe they weren't timing up the fastball but there were a lot of foul balls, a lot of deep counts, those kind of at-bats?
JACOB MISIOROWSKI: Those guys had an approach and they stuck to it. They did their job and I had to find a way to battle back.
Q. Overall, how would you assess the outing?
JACOB MISIOROWSKI: Obviously not the way I wanted it to go. Would have liked to go a little deeper for our bullpen. The job still got done. We still got a W at the end of the day.
Q. Seemed like that second inning it was a little more secondary heavy, kind of going to cutter/slider a little bit, then the last couple innings it was back to the fastball, more of the curveball. What was the process of trying to work through tonight, figure out what was working and how to go at them with what you had?
JACOB MISIOROWSKI: There's no high thought with it. We're trying to battle them. And they were fouling shit off. And you've kind of got to make an adjustment and try and go soft. And they're fouling soft off. You kind of just do something until it sticks. And that was the curveball/heater. So it worked out.
Q. What was your view in the ninth inning for that fly ball off the roof?
JACOB MISIOROWSKI: My view wasn't great. I was down in the dugout, so I wasn't on the line. But, no, it's definitely a new experience. I've never seen that before. Obviously you hear stories of it happening in Tropicana, but a new one here.
Q. Did you guys know the rule?
JACOB MISIOROWSKI: Sal was explaining the same rule with Tropicana, like if it's a live ball. I was guessing that's the same thing.
Q. You just said a win's a win. You guys always say this is our brand of baseball. Is that what you consider this win? It wasn't the prettiest, but you guys kind of do what you've been doing all year long?
JACOB MISIOROWSKI: Yeah, 100 percent. This is the time of year when you've got to get these wins. I didn't make anything work, and the boys helped me out and got me out of the situation that I wasn't happy with.
Q. How about the job by the guys behind you, the relievers and getting out of some big situations with runners on base?
JACOB MISIOROWSKI: Yeah, amazing. Those guys were working their ass off to get through that game. So it's definitely what we've been doing this whole season. So it's really cool to see the boys keep rolling.
Q. Everybody analyzes your pitching, but I wanted to ask you what you see in your bullpen that makes it so nasty. They picked you up today, but it's been a great bullpen all year. What makes them so good?
JACOB MISIOROWSKI: I think the biggest thing is the strikes they throw. I think that's always hard coming into a game and not really knowing what the mound condition is and the boys just peppering the zone.
It makes it hard on our offense to try and stay aggressive but also see if they can draw a walk or something. I think that's been the biggest thing of just the boys peppering the zone and doing their thing.
