NL DIVISION SERIES: PADRES VS BREWERS

October 3, 2026

Logan Henderson

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

American Family Field

Milwaukee Brewers

Pregame 1 Press Conference

Q. What do you think when you watch Jacob Misiorowski pitch?

LOGAN HENDERSON: I think we have a really good chance to win every time he touches the mound. So we definitely have a lot of confidence in him.

Q. This is a lineup you've faced just over a month ago. How much do you draw from that start? How much do you look back and analyze that start when you're preparing for them this time around?

LOGAN HENDERSON: A decent amount. Go back and look at the scouting reports that we had going into that game, and I know we'll touch over it again. But have gone back and watched that outing a few times.

There's a handful of guys that are in the lineup that weren't that day, so kind of touch up and study on those guys as well. But definitely looking over it for sure.

Q. Tonight, when you're watching Miz pitch, knowing you're facing some of these hitters, a lot of these hitters the next day, what do you watch for? And what can you take from it when you don't throw 103?

LOGAN HENDERSON: Just trying to read their approaches the best I can, trying to get feedback from what the other guys in the dugout see as well.

Yeah, he throws harder than anybody on the planet, but I think there's still something you can take away from reading their swings and their approaches. Definitely going to be watching closely tonight.

Q. I know Woodruff hasn't pitched as much as he would have liked this season, but just seeing him trying to work his way back from these injuries and the example he sets for younger pitchers like yourself, what has he meant this season?

LOGAN HENDERSON: He's meant everything to this club, especially to a guy like myself. You wouldn't know that he's hurt by the way he carries himself in the clubhouse and in the dugout.

He's been an incredible leader. I've learned so much from him this year, especially the last few months. He works his tail off every single day. I know he's trying to get back right now.

So he makes our team better, even when he's not pitching. It's awesome to be around him.

Q. You typically don't show a lot of emotion on the mound. When you think back on some of the bigger starts you've made this season, how do you keep yourself even or calm in big moments?

LOGAN HENDERSON: Trying to take it a pitch at a time. Honestly, a lot of prayer in those moments as well because I know that I can't do it myself.

I'm trying to talk to the Lord in those moments. But really just trying to take it one pitch at a time, because truly the more you look forward from that pitch, you start to draw these conclusions in your head, and you try to keep yourself grounded as much as you can. Just really trying to be in the moment.

Q. You guys have such a young pitching staff, but also one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. What are some of the things that the organization tries to emphasize to you guys to get the most out of you at such a young age?

LOGAN HENDERSON: Like you said, credit to the organization for having such a big impact on us pitchers. But I think it starts from the first day you're in the building from when you get drafted. They have core values and certain things they preach to pitchers.

I think as players, we try to capitalize on those things and try to grow in those areas.

It's really an incredible organization. It's a well-oiled machine. And I think we're a product of the way they've handled things on top of the people that helped us get here before we got to the organization.

Q. Are those things specific to you as pitchers, or are they sort of things that kind of translate through -- to anybody?

LOGAN HENDERSON: I mean, it's specific to the individual, but at the same time it's try to get to two strikes as fast as possible and put guys away and live in the strike zone and don't give up free passes, which I'm sure a lot of people are preaching within all of baseball.

But they really put an emphasis on that, especially just in the minor leagues. But, yeah, I think they do it well here, for sure.

Q. I'm curious, as you scout the other 29 teams and get ready for your starts and see how every other teams go about it offensively and then you watch your offense every single night, what do you sort of make of the way the Brewers do it as compared to everybody else?

LOGAN HENDERSON: I faced our lineup the other day in live at-bats and it didn't go so good. They put up some really tough at-bats. And it's remarkable to see the way our guys grind at-bats. It's frustrating as a pitcher when you feel like you can make three or four good pitches in a row and they're either taking it, spoiling it or putting the ball in the gap.

And not only that, it's finding way to take the extra base and get into scoring position and just putting pressure on the defense and the pitcher. It's definitely a frustrating lineup to go against, and I'm glad I don't have to see them too often.

Q. Is there a team that's even close that you've pitched against?

LOGAN HENDERSON: No, not quite the way we do it. There's obviously great lineups out there. But it seems like we play a different brand of baseball, for sure.

Q. When you look at where you started the year and where you are now going into this start tomorrow, what are you most proud of your development personally?

LOGAN HENDERSON: That's a great question. Proud of, minus missing a month and a half, the availability at the back half of the season and just the ability to contribute for the team. Being available is, like, the most important thing in this game. And sometimes it's uncontrollable. And sometimes it is, and you've got to find a way to put yourself in a good position to be able to post every time. So that's one thing.

And I feel like I've grown a lot as a pitcher, just getting some more innings under my belt. And talking to guys like Woodruff and all the guys in the clubhouse, there's just so much to learn. He'll tell you there's so much more for him to learn in this game as well, which is a cool thing.

But the number one thing I'd say is just being available and being able to contribute for the team.

Q. Miz was telling us just how honored he is to have the faith of his staff and the clubhouse to start Game 1. I wonder what goes through your head what you're thinking about when you hear you're going to start Game 2 of the NLDS for the best team in baseball?

LOGAN HENDERSON: Same thing as he said. It's an honor. Just, like you said, to be able to pitch for the best team in baseball and get an opportunity to help the team win, and for the city, it's incredible. It's hard to put into words.

I'm sure some point down the line in my career I'll be able to soak it in a little bit more. But I've been preparing for this for a long time.

Not trying to make it too much bigger than it is, and preparing for it like another start. And I think we understand the stakes, but you've got to treat it the same. So, yeah, I feel prepared.
