Quick Quotes
Q. Moving day, 9-under 63 at Kingsbarns. How do you reflect on your day's work? Talk me through your round, please.
JACOB SKOV OLESEN: Yeah it was a good round. I playing really solid. Felt like I played solid the first two days but like average, just below average every shot. I didn't feel like I had the best shots the first few days. Same old boring, staying patient, and today it worked out a little more. Got my shots close to the holes helps.
Q. What do you feel are the main differences between the three layouts?
JACOB SKOV OLESEN: They are very different. In a way, even though they are all lynches, this one is the easiest one. Old Course can be tricky as well. Old Course wide off the tee. This one is wide, too.
But you still have a few shots where you want to be in the fairway. I think that's the main difference. The greens are a bit different, obviously, being three different courses but I feel like I have pretty good speed on greens to where there's not that big of a difference.
Q. Can you talk me through the eagle on the par 5, 12?
JACOB SKOV OLESEN: Yeah, hit a good drive down the fairway. 5- iron toward middle of the green and left myself seven, eight metres, something like that, and dropped that one in. Haven't made that many putts from distance, so it was nice to make a longer one.
Q. What can you take of your experience in the final group of the Irish Open into tomorrow's final round?
JACOB SKOV OLESEN: Yeah, always learning when you're up there and when you have a rough day. Obviously tomorrow is going to be quite a bit different of a setup. I'm probably starting with the same amount of strokes behind but that was just a crowd there, going crazy in the greens. Staying in the moment and taking the shot for what it is.
Q. What is it you love so much good links golf?
JACOB SKOV OLESEN: Yeah, I don't know. I never used to love it in the Amateur in '24. I had not played golf in probably seven years before that. I think I'm good at playing a lot of different shots, playing with the wind, going against the wind. Just playing what the course gives you.
Obviously sometimes you're going to get some bounces that aren't good but I think it there's a lot of spots where you can actually try and play on the bounces and use them in your favour, and I put quite well, as well.
Q. You've had an amazing year so far and come close, but what would it mean to win tomorrow at the Home of Golf?
JACOB SKOV OLESEN: Yeah, it would mean a lot. I've been close a decent amount of times this year. I'm still a few shots back. There's going to be a lot of work to be done but we're going to give it our best shot, and it would be amazing.
Q. Wouldn't get much better than getting your maiden title at St Andrews?
JACOB SKOV OLESEN: Yeah, I think that's tough to beat.
