Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Polly Mack after her second round at the 2026 LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei. 12-under; co-leader here. Just what does it mean to put yourself in such a strong spot?
POLLY MACK: It feels really good. It feels like the work I've put in recently, but all year, really comes to shine right now.
Yeah, it just feels really good. I'm sure my team feels a little relieved, too, to see something good turning around. We all knew it was coming. I think my closer circle knew it's in me and I know it's in me and I've showed that few times this year already.
Just feels good it's coming out and that I can show it and that it's there. Yeah, good timing.
Q. Awesome. And then this is your first time leading after 36 holes. What's just feeling so strong about your game right now?
POLLY MACK: It's kind of coming together what I've been working through also this year. I mean, tee shots are really strong right now, which helps me a lot out here on this course. Then I've worked a lot on approach shots which is coming together. Putting is really smooth.
Yeah, this course plays to my advantage and I'm just playing it to my advantage.
Q. Yeah, and that brings me to my next question. 12 birdies through two rounds. You've been putting yourself in birdie opportunities. Where have you been taking advantage of on this course?
POLLY MACK: Basically just playing my driving distance to my advantage. Hit a lot of driver off the tee, which I don't get to do a lot times on courses, so I'm glad I can do it here because there is space for it.
Yeah, I'm just hitting the driver really well, having a lot of wedges in, hitting the wedges close, leaving myself a lot of birdie opportunities, and making a good bit of them.
But there is still a few left out there, so I'm excited for the weekend.
Q. You had the birdie on 18. Gave you the co-lead there. Just talk us through that hole a little bit.
POLLY MACK: Uh-huh. Yeah, the wind plays to my advantage there. It's like just perfect to my drive down the middle of the fairway. Had a good I want to say just over 200 meters, 220 yards into the green or to the pin; a little bit of downwind.
So of I hit my 4-iron pretty well but not pure so I just ended up just short of the green. Been putting a lot from the fringe so I knew what that felt like and did that again. Left my putt a little short and had like a six-footer maybe to make.
And, yeah, just kept calm and knew, you know, it's -- the outcome is either way okay, but I was glad when it fell.
Q. Of course. And then very few mistakes out there. 36 holes of bogey-free golf. Did you see a start like this coming? I know you mentioned you and your team felt confident. Is something clicking differently that you feel this week in your game?
POLLY MACK: You know, golf is golf. Like sometime you feel it and sometimes you feel it and it's not showing in the scores; sometimes you don't feel it and it does show in the scores.
I just kept my expectations low more for this week and just tried to have fun because we are in Hawai'i and this is just a good week overall on and off the golf course. So I'm just enjoying every single bit of it.
Q. Yeah, and then obviously the talk a little bit before this week was heavy winds; obviously we got the rain as well. Just through 36 holes obviously bogey-free, how difficult is it to do that on a course like this?
POLLY MACK: Yeah, mistakes happen. Golf is a game of misses and we all know it. I honestly missed in the right spots. I hit some really good up and downs already last week, and that gave me some confidence for this week too to make some good up and downs and know the soft hands are there.
Putting is good and strong. Some putts could have not fallen and some putts did fall. Yeah, kept smooth. Feel like it's a good course to score well.
Q. Last one from me: How do you hope to keep this momentum into the weekend?
POLLY MACK: Same thing: No expectations; just roll with the flow; enjoy the momentum of every shot and every hole and just ride the wave.
