Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Maja Stark after her second round at the LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei. Two pretty solid rounds from you; 11 birdies over the course of the last two days. What's been the key to success scoring at this course?
MAJA STARK: Just been hitting a lot of greens. Felt like I rolled in quite a few putts early today and all yesterday, so, yeah, just felt like it was very steady, very stress-free.
Q. Yeah. What have you made of the course? I'm sure -- is this your first time here?
MAJA STARK: First time.
Q. What have you made of the course in your preparation maybe with some of the winds and different aspects of it? How did you prepare yourself for that?
MAJA STARK: I think it's fun. It's very inviting, and especially with the greens being this soft, you can really go for a lot of pins, which is always fun.
I thought that it -- I think, it looks scarier than it is because there is a lot of water on the course, but it's not really in play that much.
So it's very nice. I usually get a little bit scared and hit bad shots because of my nerves, so now I can just kind of go for it.
Very fun course.
Q. We haven't seen you since the Solheim Cup. Before then I think it was, what did I have it as, CPKC was your last start, right?
MAJA STARK: Uh-huh.
Q. So getting that kind of a big of break -- obviously Solheim is not a break -- but what have you been up to? What have you been working on in preparation for this week and the end of the season?
MAJA STARK: What have I've been doing? Kind of got, I don't know, a very loaded question from one of the caddies after Solheim. He just said, why can't you always just play like this? Felt like at Solheim I was hitting shots and making putts that I haven't really made before.
So that was kind of a big thing I've had to think about. Other than that, hasn't really been anything different in my practice and stuff. It's been nice to not be super stressed about things and just be looking forward to the tournaments again and kind of saving my energy for the last little stretch.
Q. Speaking of Solheim, how would you summarize that week in the Netherlands? Another Cup for you guys and Team Europe.
MAJA STARK: Just so much fun. Felt like we had the perfect team, perfect captains, perfect crowds. Obviously it was a very tight competition, but that's kind of what we want.
Obviously nerve-wracking but it was specify in any opinion.
Q. And obviously such an intense week to now go back to just and you Hads back on the bag by yourselves. How do you come down from that competition but still keep maybe that same energy knowing we only have a short left of the season?
MAJA STARK: I think it's so easy to get like we call it post Solheim depression because it's so much fun. I just kind of tried to not take any time off and I went straight into practicing again. Especially since it was a two-week break and it was straight here to Hawai'i.
So I just kind of -- kind of wanted to keep that mindset of like this putt is really important. This putt is for -- to go 1-up or whatever. So I kind of wanted to do that here. And I think it's worked a lot better than usual when you can kind of get a little sloppy with putts sometimes.
If you're kind of short of energy you don't really do all the things have to do. At Solheim if I know it's the wrong line you go and fix it; whereas that's not really the case on a normal week. So, yeah.
Q. Lastly, just how important is this week getting ready for a busy stretch in Asia and the last two events of the year?
MAJA STARK: Very important for me because it feels like on CME I'm just -- the rankings -- I'm just like kind of towards the bottom of the people making into CME. So just want to feel more comfy in that.
So it's been really nice to feel like I'm playing steady and I've been missing a lot of putts but still 8-under par. That's a great feeling. Yeah, hopefully I don't have to be too stressed going forward heading into CME.
