Quick Quotes
Q. How was it out there?
CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, the wind was not what I expected it to be today. I thought it would be windier. The front nine played pretty gettable. Yeah, I made a few good birdies out there. Especially the good birdie on 18, hit two nice approach shots and yeah, capitalised with holing a few putts.
Q. Capped it off with a nice birdie at the end?
CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, let a few flip on the front nine and didn't make as many as I would have liked to. So to finish off with a birdie is always nice going into tomorrow.
Q. Just how good of a round was that out there today?
CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, I played really nicely. I felt the whole day, I hit the ball really solid. My approach play was really good, and luckily rolled in a few putts on the front nine, which is the back nine. And yeah, I just felt really in control of my game out there.
Q. This format, does this help you play, all the amateurs, does it relax you a little bit when you're out there?
CASEY JARVIS: Yes, it's always nice playing -- I play with the same partner every year. He's so nice. I definitely feel a bit more relaxed. I think it's nice once in a while to have amateurs playing with us, and it's deferral a lot more relaxing.
Q. What are your thoughts going into tomorrow into the weekend, lovely position, obviously, to do something pretty special here in this Home of Golf?
CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, it's nice to have the Old Course for two rounds in a row now. You watch The Open growing up as a kid; and now to be in contention in a tournament like this, yeah, I'm just looking forward to it, and I can't wait to get out there over the weekend.
Q. You had a great start obviously on the DP World Tour, and some great results across the season, as well. How nice would it be to get another victory on the board?
CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, I haven't been playing great lately. Missed a few cuts here and there. So it's nice to be back, and I think this week can give me a bit of confidence towards the end of the season.
So it's just nice to be up there again and doing an interview right now to be honest.
Q. Is there something about links golf that's maybe helped you?
CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, I mean, I played two links courses in the past month, and I haven't played particularly well. But I think the finish at The Open really helped. I think it helps the confidence a lot; that I know I can play links golf. I've got a pretty low ball flight which helps when it's windy, so yeah, I mean, just -- yeah.
Q. That performance at The Open, it was obviously great thing to have in the middle of the summer, but coming to courses like this, do you sort of think: Gives me a lot of confidence and relish this opportunity?
CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, a hundred percent. I mean, just you learn every week, and the more you play links golf, the more you learn. I mean, we don't grow up on this type of grass. I think finishing or just being up there at The Open, I think it gave me a world of confidence and I know I can compete when we do play links.
