Q. All right, we are here with Polly Mack after her first round at the 2026 LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei. Polly, 5-under par today. How does that round set the tone headed into the weekend?

POLLY MACK: Yeah, it felt nice today, even though we had a little bit of conditions out there, a little bit of typical Hawaiian weather, some delays and stops. But I feel like I kept calm and just played my par-5s to my advantage.

Just, yeah, stayed patient with the putts.

Q. And you had three birdies on your back nine. This was amidst all this weather coming in. How difficult is it to stay strong through that and just finish a strong round?

POLLY MACK: I mean, yeah, it was kind of difficult after that short delay on our back nine to kind of fall back into it, but it was nice that I made a putt right after. And, yeah, just kind of warmed back up and made sure that I just stayed patient overall.

Just no expectations and play with what we got.

Q. And then in that moment do you have a certain routine that keeps you warm and ready to go?

POLLY MACK: Yeah, I worked a little bit through it with my workout coach and my swing coach just to make sure that -- especially as a long hitter I feel like you just got to make sure you're right there, you're warmed up, your core is engaged basically.

So we just worked through some things to make sure that I'm, even on a longer wait or after a delay, ready to go, and I feel like that worked today.

Q. And then you had a bogey-free round. How difficult is it to do that amidst the conditions obviously playing a factor out there?

POLLY MACK: Yeah, started thinking a little bit about that towards the end. I was like, oooh, it's kind of nice. But, yeah, I mean, I just hit pretty good approach shots. Had a lot of birdie putts out there.

Again, this course kind of plays to my advantage of being a long hitter and I have a lot of wedges in, so I would kind of expect to hit a lot of greens and have a lot of birdie putts.

Therefore, this is kind of a nice return of like, yeah, this worked out. There is still some putts left out there that we can make.

Q. That leads me to my next question. This is your fourth consecutive year here at the LOTTE Championship. Is there anything about the tournament or course that keeps bringing you and some other players back here?

POLLY MACK: I mean, I love it here. This is just an amazing opportunity to come to Hawai'i. Four years ago this was my first time here. I just couldn't wait. Couldn't wait to see everything. Was just so exciting.

All the people here are so lovely. I felt so welcome right at the first time being here. Lovely host housing, really lovely pro-am partners. Yeah, feel like that just makes the week even better, that you feel welcome and like people care, and, yeah, I would come back any time.
