Quick Quotes
Q. We're here with Jeeno after her first round of the 2026 LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei. Jeeno, you had a bogey-free round out there today. What's the importance of keeping it so low on this course?
JEENO THITIKUL: I mean, like everything kind of wide open to my eyes, but, you know, it's some day -- I mean, it's just some day that's kind of wide open on the fairway which is like you can be definitely on the fairway more than some other course that narrow.
And then I think if you can go like really aggressive to the pin it should be the most possible that you can do. Because I feel like when the rain kind of, you know, dropping down and then the green kind of slower and not really firm, so I think if you can be able to be aggressive as possible should be a really good chance.
Q. Yeah, kind of leads me to my next question. Birdie on nine which was your last hole of the day. That came after the weather delay. What's it like for a player like you to keep the momentum and finish strong?
JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah, I mean, like it's kind of, you know, annoying that we had rain, like two waits on rain, and especially we just had one before our last hole. But the good thing is it wasn't take that long to just like waiting and then standing.
But, I mean, what is possible to do, it's just like keep yourself stretching and not too stiff. That's the best you can do. And just learn from it.
Just learn how the green is kind of rolling after the rain.
Q. After 18 holes of play, obviously we had weather today, but is the course playing any different from your initial expectations?
JEENO THITIKUL: I don't think it's playing different much, but, I mean, the rain definitely got the big, you know, big change of the course.
After the rain everything was so like wet and then slow. I mean, but obviously we definitely better because we got no wind. Just no wind. But hopefully it's going to not too bad, I mean the weather-wise, for the weekend.
Q. Last question from me: 16 out of 18 greens in regulation of what was feeling so strong about your game in that aspect?
JEENO THITIKUL: I honestly like not feel very much comfortable like when I hit the ball on like my woods-wise. Driver was great, but 3-woods and utility-wise wasn't that on pointe.
But I don't know. I've been trying to like I said be aggressive as possible and then kind of like let it go out there on the course. I know like sometime you hit a good shot, sometime you hit a bad shot, but what your trick is where you're aiming and where your ball is start at and where you want it to.
