THE MODERATOR: All right. Who has the first question?
Q. Big picture, can you talk about what it means from where y'all came from to not only get to the playoffs, but to win a first series for this team in 20 years?
CHASE MEIDROTH: I mean, yeah, it means everything for our fans. They have been incredible all year. So the main thing was getting back to Chicago for some postseason baseball, and so we're really blessed that we get to do that.
Q. Take me into another part of this sequence right before your home run. Will gave us a little bit of insight just now. So the two guys on, and he had you showing bunt on the first two pitches. So what were you looking at as you're watching Abreu's first couple of pitches, and then you see the third baseman coming in. So what was your approach in that situation?
CHASE MEIDROTH: I was looking for something middle up. He's had my number all year, really good fastball, so I got something middle up and I was able to cash in for the team. So, yeah, that was awesome.
Q. Whenever the Astros were able to cut it to one run, what does it say about you guys and the poise you showed to be able to come back and put it out of reach at that point?
CHASE MEIDROTH: Yeah, we knew that was a really good offense the players they have, it's unbelievable their lineup. So we knew it was going to be a nine-inning game. So, yeah, them coming back, that was no surprise. As good as our pitchers are, it was awesome for them to go out there and hold them to three runs, that was incredible. So they gave us a chance and we were able to come through.
Q. What do you think is the biggest quality that this team has that has allowed you guys to get to this point?
CHASE MEIDROTH: Belief, energy, those are the two things. Confidence. We got a young, hungry group, some veteran guys that we lean on. But, yeah, it's been the same all year. We believe we can win every game.
Q. What can you say about the way the pitching staff has pieced this together, not just the last couple of days, they have kind of been in playoff mode for quite awhile now. How has the belief developed within that group as you've seen one guy after another is handing the baton off?
CHASE MEIDROTH: Yeah, same as our offense. It's get the ball to the next guy, get the bat to the next guy. One through 26, we're a team ready to go, all of us, not just one guy. So every day it's a team effort, every single day, and that's what you kind of see is we're playing together, we're playing for the guy behind us.
Q. Looking ahead, how eager are you guys to go to the next round and be up for that competition to kind of see how much more you can do?
CHASE MEIDROTH: Yeah, we're excited. We got a date in Cleveland on Saturday, so that's what we wanted is a shot at the DS with a really good team. It's been a great series back and forth all year between us, so it's going to be a dogfight this next ALDS.
THE MODERATOR: Chase, thanks for coming in.
CHASE MEIDROTH: Thanks, guys.
