Quick Quotes

Q. This is your first senior women's event in the United States. You are in the final. Won two matches today, final one came down to 18. How did you get it done today out there?

AMANDINE VINCENT: It was really tough. Since yesterday morning, was really, really tough. All the matches were really tight, and this morning was really tight. Yesterday afternoon was really tight.

I think this afternoon was the best match I've played so far. Maria is a really good player. I knew I had to play well and not to let her go up too much. She was 2-up because she -- actually, I had two bogeys, and I managed to come back.

Then we had birdies, once her, once me. Then on 18, I don't know, it's the third time I got to 18, and I finally managed to be on the green. So I'm really, really happy.

Q. Playing in the morning, did anything change with your game plan in the afternoon, seeing the course in the morning?

AMANDINE VINCENT: No. I think after I played two practice rounds, two qualifying, and it's been, what, four matches?

Q. Yeah, four matches, one left.

AMANDINE VINCENT: I think I know the course pretty well. So I'll try to do as good tomorrow. I know she's a really good player. 1st seed and 2nd seed is not too bad.

Q. Not bad. It's actually the first time it's happened in championship history with the No. 1 playing the No. 2. Obviously the two best players in stroke play. With all that's on the line tomorrow -- Senior Women's Amateur trophy, but also a spot in the Senior Women's Open, Women's Amateur. Do you think about that at all going into tomorrow? Does your game plan and mindset change?

AMANDINE VINCENT: You know the U.S. Open is far from home. Of course it's a dream because to qualify we don't have a qualifying in Europe. So the only way to do it is I guess to win here, but I didn't think about it.

I don't think I'm going to think about it because I know I'll be re-invited to come here next year, and there will be plenty of other opportunities. So I'll do my best.
